Atlassian is seeking a Principal Strategist to drive the dynamic growth and adoption of our Rovo AI suite of solutions. This role will evaluate opportunities to drive revenue and value throughout the customer lifecycle, develop economic models and projections, and work cross-functionally with responsibility for overall program management for the Sales & Success GTM teams.
We are looking for a highly capable individual contributor who will partner closely with Sales and Success, Marketing, Product, Engineering and Revenue Operations teams. This individual should thrive in a fast-paced environment, evaluate challenges from multiple angles to cogently structure and implement plans, and be able to operate independently.

What you'll do

  • Strategic Planning: Have a pulse on market trends, competitive landscape, and internal capabilities to identify growth opportunities and risks. Update strategic plans, target market and revenue impact as needed.
  • Program Management: Develop and maintain program plan including scoping, milestone planning, identifying resource needs, managing timelines, determining program operating rhythm, championing change management, etc.
  • Execution and Monitoring: Oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives and track progress against goals. Adjust plans as needed based on performance metrics and changing market conditions.
  • Risk Mitigation: Manage dependencies and risks by implementing best practices to proactively address potential issues, pinpoint operational inefficiencies, and enhance overall processes.
  • Analytics: Support development of economic models, including evaluation of financial forecasts, long-range planning, and propensity models. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on the business's progress. Create data visualizations to enhance stakeholders' understanding of the company's performance.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work cross-functionally to ensure strategies and tactics are integrated and executed effectively. Foster collaboration and communication across teams, with emphasis on supporting collaboration for customer engagements between GTM and R&D teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate strategic goals and initiatives to key stakeholders, including senior management. Execute tactical requests as needed and prepare and present reports on progress and outcomes.


Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. We encourage you to apply should you meet many of these requirements and have the ability and interest to develop the others.

  • Have 10+ years of experience in the high-tech industry in combination with program management, consulting, corporate strategy, business operations, with an emphasis on strategic program execution.
  • Deep program management experience with success leading high-impact, cross-functional programs or projects with a strong sense of urgency and commitment.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytic skills including evaluating risks and contingencies, developing structure in ambiguity, connecting the dots, and tackling difficult problems combined with the ability to prioritize and function well in a dynamic and matrix environment.
  • Ability to develop financial models and analysis, demonstrate strong quantitative analysis skills. Have experience framing strategic choices based on well-grounded assumptions, using logic when data or market signals are limited.
  • A self-starter with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and work across teams to accomplish goals, tasks, and deliver outcomes.
  • Ability to influence and impact without authority and across multiple organizational altitudes through strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with particularly strong executive-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities throughout your work - taking ownership of challenges, supporting your colleagues, and setting the standard for quality in your deliverables.


Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $176,100 - $234,800
Zone B: $158,500 - $211,400
Zone C: $146,200 - $194,900
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
