Brown & Brown is seeking a Learning & Development Specialist to join our growing team.

The Learning and Development Specialist supports the design, development, and implementation of learning and development programs. The individual in this role will work closely with internal stakeholders, teams, and subject matter experts to implement and maintain multimedia-based instructional materials such as web-based training courses, videos, quick reference guides, and instructor and participant guides.

How You Will Contribute: 

  • Assist with the needs analysis process for target audiences on assigned projects.

  • Define meaningful learning objectives to address the goals or outcomes of the program.

  • Design learning solutions in multiple modalities including, but not limited to, on-demand training, virtual instructor-led training, and live in-person instructor-led training.

  • Research new content and interview subject matter experts to assess and validate training content and instructional materials.

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with internal stakeholders, teams, and subject matter experts to drive effective learning design.

  • Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback. 

  • Work to fulfill project requirements, milestones, deliverables, and deadlines.  

Skills & Experience to Be Successful: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Training, Instructional Design, eLearning, Digital Learning, Learning/Organizational Development, or a related field is preferred.

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a directly related role, creating, and designing learning solutions.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and collaboration skills to work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders.

  • Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy under direction from the Learning & Development Leader.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

  • Proficient in eLearning developer tools, such as Articulate Storyline / Rise or other similar authoring tools (preferred)

  • Understanding of Learning Management Systems. Experience with Cornerstone SBX (formerly Saba Cloud) (Preferred)

  • Experience in Property & Casualty, Employee Benefits, or Personal Lines insurance (preferred)
