Job Summary:

As Learning & Development Specialist supporting an Actuarial Transformation program, you will be responsible for ongoing designing, deploying, delivering and evaluating learning strategy and programs to enhance the performance and growth of teams to meet program and departmental goals. You will stay up to date with learning technologies and tools to enhance training delivery and engagement. This role will lead, plan and prioritize training projects from conducting needs assessments, creating content, to the delivery, meeting requirements and due dates. Lastly, you will manage multiple tasks for numerous deliverables by transitioning simply and easily from one project to the next.

Other objectives include:

  • Collaboration with Actuarial Transformation Project Leads and Change Manager to develop a learning strategy to support planned solutions in accordance with roadmap milestones. Create supporting business metrics and outcomes in partnership with the program lead and change manager. Utilize The Standard’s SharePoint site and learning management system to maintain resources supporting learning and development and drive design and development of complex curriculum tied to measurable outcomes and impacts to the organization.
     
  • Supporting Corporate Actuarial and Risk Management (CARM) and the Actuarial Community of Practice (ACP) through onboarding by maintaining and continuously improving onboarding for new hires. Creating curated learning journey content for various levels of proficiency with the support of business unit leaders. Support existing and future groups or communities of practice that are focused on ongoing learning & development e.g. current ACP technology community of practice and Actuarial Engineering group
     
  • Employees in this role are eligible for fully remote work (other than periodic in-person meetings or other periodic business travel).

Skills and Background You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant, progressive work experience in learning and development field, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing learning strategies and content for adults in the actuary community. Experience in data analysis. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and influencing skills for deployment of programs.
  • Proficient knowledge with software programs necessary for the position: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and other learning and development tools (i.e. Pluralsight, Articulate 360 Suite, Camtasia).
  • Ability to acquire strong knowledge for multiple lines of business and distill complex topics into appropriately sized learning.
  • Strong familiarity with various forms of program evaluation, metrics creation and tracking, and agile ways of working.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

 

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$74,500.00 - $108,750.00
