  • Lead cross-functionally: Serve as a leader across cross-functional workstreams, in close collaboration with product management, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure consistent, clear, and compelling messaging across campaigns and channels.
  • Own the story: Oversee all aspects of product launch communication plans, including media relations, internal communications, and writing of press-facing materials such as press releases, blog posts, product demos, and case studies.
  • Measure effectiveness: Use first and third party data to measure the success of communication strategies and adjust accordingly to improve engagement and impact.
  • Serve as a team leader: Serve as a leader on the Communications team and across the broader company, bringing best-practices to the function and mentoring junior employees to grow the overall capacity of the organization.

To thrive in this role, you have...

  • Proven track record of managing product communications and media relations with a successful history of building and growing a function.
  • Strong understanding of the fintech landscape and regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience collaborating with C-suite executives.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing – both directly and indirectly – high-performing teams.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
