Atlassian provides tools to help every team unleash their full potential.
The Role
As a Content Design Intern at Atlassian, you will collaborate with design and development teams to enhance user experiences through content. You will learn the content design process, engage in user research, and contribute to real projects while enjoying a supportive and challenging environment.
Summary Generated by Built In

Your future team Atlassian is looking for Content Design Interns to join our growing Design teams in Australia, India and the US. Join Atlassian as an intern and spend your time having an impact on how millions of users collaborate and use software. The most amazing thinkers-like NASA rocket scientists and Tesla engineers-are coming to us for solutions. We're in the business of developing software to help teams everywhere get amazing ideas on the ground and into the world.
As a Content Designer, you'll be empowered to experiment with a variety of approaches to information in the UI, documentation, supporting materials, and anywhere else our customers engage with content. You'll work with content designers, product designers, developers, product managers, marketers, and support engineers to ensure that the stories we tell are consistent and create a great experience for our customers. As a Content Design Intern, you'll gain the experience needed in the Agile software development process, Atlassian tools, user research, content strategy, and team collaboration to kickstart your career. You'll join a team that is smart and very direct. We challenge each other to improve our work, learn, and ask hard questions. We're dedicated to Agile methodology and are big believers in 'lean' (which means we don't do documentation for documentation's sake). We know the importance of validating assumptions about users and use several types of testing to figure out whether we're right (or wrong). Our bottom line is improving our user's experience-no matter what.
Unfortunately, we do not offer U.S. work visa sponsorship to F-1/OPT, J-1/TN, or H-1B student graduates at this time.
What you'll do

  • Gain valuable exposure to the content design and product development process by working on a real Atlassian project.
  • Be mentored by our experienced designers in shaping your internship outcomes.
  • Experience Atlassian's culture through our many companywide and cross-regional programs.

Your background

  • Able to commit to a 12 week full-time (40hrs/week) program during Summer 2025
  • Currently enrolled full-time in a 4-year bachelors or 2-year masters degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship, graduating by June 2026
  • Experience with user-focused design
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan while juggling multiple simultaneous projects
  • Experience collaborating with team members, like engineers, product managers and other designers
  • Joy for writing and editing high-quality content (such as articles, blogs, or websites)
  • Demonstrate vigorous writing standards (including grammar, style, and voice and tone)
  • Experience with creatively explaining complex topics to a variety of audiences
