The Compliance Manager for Bank Partner Audit & Exam Management is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of Affirm’s audit and exam management processes related to its bank partners. This position ensures that all bank partner requests are addressed efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance with regulatory expectations.

As a strategic partner within the organization, the Compliance Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Capital Markets, and various Compliance teams. They will build and refine processes to manage compliance obligations, mitigate risk, and ensure Affirm's continued adherence to consumer compliance laws, regulations, and standards.

What You'll Do

  1. Audit and Exam Leadership
    • Serve as the primary compliance liaison for bank partner audits and exams.
    • Manage end-to-end processes for internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
    • Develop and implement tracking mechanisms to streamline audit management.
    • Coordinate audit kick-offs, documentation submissions, and post-audit reviews.
  2. Collaboration and Communication
    • Lead meetings with internal stakeholders and bank partners to align on audit expectations and deliverables.
    • Maintain clear communication channels using tools like Slack and project management platforms.
    • Ensure documentation and audit responses are reviewed and approved by Legal and Compliance Advisory teams.
  3. Process Development
    • Enhance efficiencies in managing multi-bank partner models and compliance activities.
    • Implement process improvements leveraging technology such as Monday.com and Asana.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive audit and exam management procedures.
  4. Issue Resolution and Reporting
    • Address findings from audits and exams by coordinating with Compliance Advisory and Business Units.
    • Oversee issue remediation processes in alignment with established standards and within designated timelines.
    • Generate and present quarterly and annual compliance reports, highlighting key insights and trends.
  5. Stakeholder Management
    • Build strong relationships with bank partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
    • Represent Compliance in weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings with key bank partners.
    • Provide strategic recommendations to stakeholders on compliance best practices.

What We Look For

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in compliance, audit, enterprise risk management, or related fields.
  • Proven experience managing regulatory audits and examinations.
  • Strong understanding of consumer compliance laws and their application in a financial services context.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguity and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with tools like SQL, Google Sheets, Monday.com, Notion or Asana is a plus

Pay Grade - K
Equity Grade - 6
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $140,000 - $190,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $124,000 - $174,000
