Position Overview

The Audience Development Editor for AOL will be an important addition to a new team tasked with driving audience growth and increasing engagement across our platforms. This person will have a specific focus on reinvigorating our presence across existing and emerging social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads and more. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive growth and audience retention through social media, newsletters, community and more

  • Develop strategies for AOL’s social presence on emerging platforms as they arise

  • Develop a cross-channel short form video strategy for social

  • Work effectively within a team structure and with peers across content, marketing and product teams 

  • Partner with marketing teams to execute influencer campaigns 

  • Measure results and inform next steps in the strategy

  • Effectively multitask and always be conscious of and respect deadlines

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in a digital media, marketing or audience role with a proven track record of success across multiple relevant projects

  • Experience managing social accounts for one or more large publishers

  • Experience working with emerging social platforms (Threads, Bluesky, Linkedin, Reddit, Whatsapp, etc)

  • Experience working with social optimization tools (ie Socialflow) and social media graphics creation via Canva

  • Experience editing short form video for social

  • Sharp editorial instincts as well as an acute sense of what is right for each specific audience

  • Highly organized and able to communicate or present clearly within a team

  • You are an innovator that is most comfortable when working with rapid iterations of experimentation 

  • You are a competitor at heart and restless in your pursuit of winning formulas

  • You are an eager learner, always looking to learn new lessons and develop best practices

  • You are thrilled at the chance to play an important role in driving a beloved heritage brand forward to reach new heights

The compensation for this position ranges from $84,750.00 - $176,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Our comprehensive benefits include healthcare, a great 401k, backup childcare, education stipends and much (much) more.
