Description

The Vice President, Data Platform serves as a member of the Product Leadership team and will be responsible for building and optimizing MediaRadar’s data engine, the data underpinning for the company’s growth strategy.

In this role, you’ll apply both product and technical knowledge to design and architecture MediaRadar's single data engine to collect, process and analyze all media, delivering comprehensive coverage and high-quality analytics that competitors cannot match. You’ll accelerate the use of automation and AI to expand our data assets, improve quality and generate operational savings for future innovation. Requirements

Process Optimization and Innovation

  • Complete MediaRadar’s transition to a single data engine to collect, process and analyze all media, delivering comprehensive coverage that competitors cannot match
  • Define and execute on the vision for the future of the data platform, ensuring that it can scale to meet the business’s future needs 
  • Partner with Operations to improve the productivity and speed of our data collection and data processing, using both automation and optimization of Operational tools  
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset: meet or exceed coverage, speed and efficiency metrics, and prioritize the roadmap and future investments to ensure that progress continues   
  • Accelerate use of AI throughout data operations to allow MediaRadar to expand coverage and improve quality with fewer resources
  • Support MediaRadar’s continued investments in digital, video and social expansion, onboarding new data assets to support continued leadership in Media coverage

Culture of Quality

  • Ensure that all aspects of our data collection and data enrichment have clear quality metrics and quality monitoring processes. Partner with Operations and Development to proactively identify and resolve quality issues 
  • Ensure that data pipelines into client delivery platforms operate at the speed and quality needed by clients
  • Ensure that our spend estimation models and other analytics deliver best-in-class results, especially as we transform and expand our digital and video coverage
  • Partner with Operations, Development, Product Management Segment Leads and Commercial to monitor and improve quality, and make effective quality versus efficiency/speed tradeoffs

Roadmap Execution & Results

  • Deliver the data and analytics roadmap on time and within budget, in order to support end-user roadmap launches and budgeted efficiency gains 
  • Communicate progress, challenges, risks and opportunities to all stakeholders, including the segment leads, the MediaRadar leadership team and board 
  • Proactively manage the long-term data roadmap, quantifying compelling business cases and managing tradeoffs
  • Partner closely with the leaders of Sell-Side and Buy-Side segments and Operations teams to unify the data and product roadmaps and make effective roadmap tradeoffs

Team Management

  • Hire and mentor team members to ensure a best-in-class data product organization 
  • Drive a customer-centric, efficiency-driven and continuous improvement mindset within the team 
  • Implement and monitor adherence to best practices to drive efficiency in the SDLC, Operational process and analytical models and ensure deadlines and key benchmarks are met

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in Product Management and Analytics in a data-rich environment 
  • Proven track record for leading complex operational strategic initiatives through periods of transformation, merger integration, or significant organizational change.  
  • Analytical and process-oriented with an innovation mindset; ability to dig into data & identify trends, and identify the fastest solution to solve operational issues 
  • Proven track record driving both significant operational efficiency and innovation in data processing
  • Expert in product development lifecycle, agile methodology and the analytics and development tech stack.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and influencing skills 
  • Excellent business judgment to put problems into context and make effective tradeoffs
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with Operational leads, developers, data scientists, product managers and commercial team members 
  • Past success in hiring and developing  a high-performance team

This is a full-time exempt role with a base salary range of $250,000-$270,000, plus benefits. A final compensation offer will ultimately be based on the candidate's location, skill level and experience, and the Company's pay equity.
