The Technology Risk Management (TRM) team actively coordinates and supports risk and control first line risk management activities across technology functions. This unique opportunity will allow you to work with talented teams and stakeholders across the organization's lines of defense to drive the improvement of SoFi's overall risk posture. The TRM Supplier Risk Management role will partner closely with Supplier Relationship Owners (SROs) and 2LOD Risk Management to execute a high quality third party risk management program across the supplier lifecycle. This role will help Technology leaders execute the program to identify and manage third party risk.
Key job activities include:

  • Drive accountability and advise on effective management of third party risks
  • Ensure quality documentation across the supplier lifecycle for the third party portfolio to include knowledge of risk and controls for pre and post award of contracts
  • Drive consistent execution of supplier lifecycle management from selection, and onboarding through termination or exit
  • Support the monitoring and management of monthly routines such as timely execution of ongoing monitoring of suppliers, performance scorecards, service level agreement adherence, action planning to close gaps, etc.
  • Partner closely with 2LOD Risk Management to execute and implement an effective third party risk management program
  • Assist Technology leaders with SLA development and establishing an effective approach for ongoing monitoring
  • Assist contract owners and supplier relationship owners with understanding supplier performance gaps, logging issues through the issue management process, performing root cause analysis, etc.



  • Monitor monthly scorecard process, execution, and ensure quality documentation. Escalate risks as needed.
  • Maintain third party community of practice (education/training) in coordination with the 2LOD Risk Management and drive engagement with supplier relationship owners in the 1LOD
  • Assist with implementation and adherence to the Third Party Risk Management Policy and Standards within the 1LOD
  • Monitor and track any exceptions to the Third Party Risk Management Policy
  • Assist contract owners with detailed action plans and reporting for less than satisfactory supplier performance
  • Assist with strengthening SLAs and helping contract owners balance managing supplier risk and performance
  • Create supplier reporting and bring visibility to supplier gaps/issues
  • Advise contract owners on the degree and depth of supplier oversight controls and routines
  • Create supplier specific and aggregate key risk indicators
  • Perform root cause analysis and assist with prioritizing gap closure for issues identified during due diligence or ongoing monitoring reviews



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 5+ years of third party risk management experience in the financial services industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Third Party Risk Management methodologies, risk mitigation principles and outsourced risk governance best practices
  • Knowledge and experience with implementing Third Party Risk Management programs aligned with Regulatory guidance.
  • Experience executing third party risk governance framework activities in consideration of relevant regulations applicable to the financial services industry
  • Ability to provide consultation to first line business leaders in consideration of the business strategy and third party risk management objectives
