Job Description

Come be part of the innovation we are driving at F5 in the BIG-IP product group. If you are an exemplary leader who is passionate about creating value in software, working with a variety of customers to address the challenges of cloud/datacenter application delivery and security, this role is right for you. This is a highly visible and impactful role, you will lead a product management team consisting of a geographically distributed team of product owners to deliver industry leading products to customers in a variety of datacenter market segments including fintech, healthcare, large enterprise, service provider, and government.

Objectives of this role include:

  • Set long term business goals for the next generation of F5 BIG-IP software, build annual product plans and delineate business priorities.
  • Accountable for F5 BIG-IP software strategy, all releases of BIG-IP software, and BIG-IP lifecycle management.
  • Define the principles, guidelines, standards for release planning in F5 BIG-IP software, including hierarchical backlog prioritization, feature requirements, requests for product enhancements, release governance for content, schedule and quality.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for development by engineering teams resulting in positive outcomes for F5 customers.
  • Work closely with sales to identify growth opportunities and execute product and GTM initiatives to drive execution against annual plan.
  • Engage with customers and channel partners to drive adoption of products. 
  • Represent product in quarterly product business reviews, articulating the state of the business and frame initiatives to drive growth. 
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional stakeholders across marketing, support, systems, and commercial models to clearly articulate dependencies and enable aligned execution. 
  • Lead a team of product managers to drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch of various F5 software products and solutions.
  • Attract and grow industry leading product management talent that is diverse, highly inclusive and excels in data driven decision making, business orientation, stakeholder communication and technical acumen. 
  • Mentoring product managers, guiding them to deliver software releases that align to corporate objective, meet specifications and is delivered on time.
  • Represent product area in sales and customer facing forums, including conferences and industry events. 
  • Ability to travel 15-20%

REQUIRED SKILLS EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • “Can do” attitude and passion to make customers and colleagues successful. 
  • Proven track record as a product manager leader or engineering leader with experience in B2B solutions.
  • Experience in all phases of product lifecycle management
  • Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries
  • Background and experience in networking software and networking hardware.
  • Solid understanding of cloud/data center networking, application delivery and application security concepts is a plus.
  • Passion for leading teams and contributing to the career development of individuals. 
  • Ownership mindset with the natural inclinations to take challenges head on and deliver impact. 
  • Ability to straddle across strategy, technical depth and execution in product delivery. 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Minimum of a Bachelors in engineering required. Graduate degree in engineering or business is a plus. 
  • 10+ years of experience in product management

The annual base pay for this position is: $238,488.00 - $357,732.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
