The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities.
The RPO Analysis and Integration Department (RAID) is one of EED's premier orbital engagement and rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO) modeling and analysis groups. We deliver impactful mission-level modeling, simulation and integration support to a variety of military and civil customers to enable the key missions that will service and protect critical space infrastructure.
Work Model
This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with 3+ onsite work days required at one of our locations in El Segundo, CA; Colorado Springs, CO; or Chantilly, VA; as the business needs allow.
What You'll Be Doing

  • Initiate, shape, and conduct tasks to address ill-defined problem statements for customers
  • Lead teams of teams to influence on major corporate and joint government/FFRDC/SETA teams
  • Establish and maintain effective and enduring working relationships with customers
  • Develop broad technical experience and personnel network to address large and sophisticated tasks
  • Provide expert technical mentoring to junior and mid-career staff
  • Mature technical expertise and capabilities in the department; generate and identify new tasks for self and others
  • Occasional travel to support customer efforts


What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for the Senior Engineering Specialist role

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related field from an accredited school
  • Extensive history of progressively responsible professional engineering/scientific experience in leading and contributing to modeling and simulation activities across multiple customer-led projects
  • Experience in technical writing and technical presentation
  • Proficiency in one of the following computer languages: C, C++, Fortran, Java, Matlab, Python
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • At least twelve years of post-graduate experience related to Astrodynamics, Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC), Systems Engineering and/or RPO systems

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Experience in modeling RPO or satellite formation flight
  • Experience with program management fundamentals
  • Experience in advanced mathematical topics, such as optimization theory, game theory, statistical estimation, and numerical analysis
  • Experience with multi-domain effects modeling or effects chain analysis
  • Experience in modern software development, integration, and testing practices
  • Experience collaborating with program office personnel and government customers
  • Significant contribution to a substantial technical analytical or development project through its successful completion


We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
