Senior Software Engineer - XM Directory Team
Why We Have This Role
Qualtrics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our XM Directory (XMD) Engineering team in our Seattle office. You should love building simple solutions to solve hard customer problems. Designing systems in an agile environment to withstand hyper growth. Things You’ll Do
- Develop scalable, fast, robust, and rich web-based interfaces to solve complex business problems using the latest technologies
- Implement new features and optimize existing ones to drive maximum performance
- Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from product managers, design, and other XMD teams
- Have significant experience working with on high-volume backend services and familiarity with frontend development
- Attend daily stand-up meetings, collaborate with your peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to your customers
- Drive clarity in business and technical requirements and evolve them into technical designs
- Architect efficient and reusable systems that drive complex web applications
- Contribute to the professional development of colleagues, improving their technical knowledge as well as the engineering best practices on your team
- Have technical impact (including Quality) that spans an Engineering organization’s technology portfolio across multiple teams or depth of impact that significantly advances mission-critical systems
What We’re Looking For On Your Resume
- Has worked with design and product teams to understand needs, propose features, create early prototypes, and transform them into exciting end-user features
- Has developed scalable, fast, robust, and rich web-based solutions to solve complex business problems
- Experience with web infrastructure and distributed systems
- Experience with continuous delivery, git, test automation, and build/deploy systems
- Strong algorithms, data structures, and coding background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science
- 5+ years working in a full-stack engineering position

XM Directory engineering team builds highly performant scalable solutions varying from data storage systems to computation and serving solutions. We utilize a plethora of open source and industry accepted technologies for our big data problems such as ElasticSearch, AWS DynamoDB, AWS Kinesis, Apache Kafka, Redis, etc. Our human interface is built using the latest Angular framework with TypeScript language. As a Senior Engineer in the XMD team, you will be applying your distributed systems knowledge, familiarity with frontend development, databases, and leading edge ML algorithms to create world class software.

For full-time positions, this pay range is for base per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be included in an employment offer, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and other benefits, based on eligibility criteria.
