Who are we looking for?

Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our Senior Manager Financial Planning & Analysis in the Managed Hotel Finance Department. This team supports the owned and managed hotel portfolio of 13 properties across the United States. As a key member of our Managed Hotel Finance Department, you will support the achievement of business goals by serving as a financial business partner with both hotel and operational management as well as communicating results to ownership groups. This role has support/oversight over the entire managed hotels portfolio.

Our managed hotel portfolio includes Cambria, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson Red, and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson. #makeityourchoice

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist in the achievement of hotel profitability goals by monitoring financial results and partnering/influencing hotel leadership. 
  • Support hotel controllers in general accounting, reporting systems, the interpretation of legislative requirements, contractual obligations, tax questions, and standard operating procedures. 
  • Provide key internal/external stakeholders with timely and accurate financial information compliant with GAAP, related contracts, leases, agreements, local laws, regulations, or other requirements. 
  • Partner with hotel management to prepare forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans and participate in communication of results with ownership groups. 
  • Perform benchmarking analysis and trend reporting to identify areas of opportunity for hotel leadership teams. 
  • Support capital expenditure requests and assist in coordinating approvals as necessary. 
  • Support underwriting efforts as necessary for managed hotel portfolio growth opportunities.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls are established and followed within each hotel, to include Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as necessary. 
  • Hold hotel management accountable for providing timely distributions of cash to ownership, maximize property cash flow, and partner with Choice Treasury as necessary. 
  • Facilitate property transitions (acquisitions, divestitures, etc.) and refinancing.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor Degree in Business (e.g., accounting, finance, etc.) required
  • Hotel industry experience, a plus
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience (Finance/Accounting)
  • Financial modeling skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Project management and relationship management skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (25% - 50%)
  • Ability to both impact and influence the various constituencies to ensure clear accountability and achieve desired results.

Your Team

This is a leadership role that will report to the Director, Managed Hotels Finance. You will have 3 direct reports and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

Your Work Location

As our Senior Manager FP&A, Managed Hotels, you will be a remote-based associate working from home. You will be required to connect virtually with Choice team members and leadership on video via Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams, with possible periodic in-person travel to our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide offices in Rockville, MD, or Scottsdale, AZ. Frequent nationwide travel will be required up to 25% of the time to visit conventions, properties, etc.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $139,604 to $188,466 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.

Pay ranges listed are for this position and are what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
