Description and Requirements
Role Value Proposition:
MetLife is looking for an experienced Sr. Engineer responsible for researching, evaluating, designing, and implementing MetLife's enterprise integration platforms. Sr. Engineer provides subject matter expertise across multiple integration technologies such as IBM Cloud Pak for Integration, App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM Message Queue (IMQ), API Connect, App Connect Professional. Sr. Engineer is expected to offer innovative solutions to enhance platform stability, usability, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of middleware integration platform development efforts. Recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and flexibility as inputs into the evolution of the integration technology road map.
  • Promote and utilize automation to design and support configuration management, orchestration, and maintenance of the integration platforms.
  • Design and implement complex integration solutions globally through collaboration with engineers, architects, and application teams using Agile methodologies.
  • Configure and design end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
  • Elevate and improve developer experience by implementing self-service automation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and team members.
  • Plan and communicate upcoming installations and fix pack releases.
  • On-call rotation
  • 24* 7 support


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:

  • 5+ years of direct technical experience on infrastructure architecture, bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline optional.
  • Design and implementation of best practices and hands-on administrative experience with at least two of the following products or appliances: Cloud Paks for Integration, MQ, App Connect Enterprise, API Connect platforms.
  • 3+ years developing solutions to automate configuration management, orchestration, and maintenance of infrastructure platforms with 2+ years' experience in the planning, implementation, support and management of Cloud solutions and technologies.
  • Accomplished, highly motivated, results driven, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Technical leadership, ability to think strategically and effectively communicate solutions to various levels of management.
  • Ample experience with scripting and automation.


Preferred:

  • Experience with DevOps processes and key components.
  • Experience working in Agile environment.
  • Experience with open-source Integration technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with modern technologies such as OpenShift, Cloud/Azure, Ansible, and Chef
  • Knowledge of operating system (Linux, Windows, AIX, iSeries)
  • Hands-on experience designing, configuring, and implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and automation scripts (Azure DevOps, Power shell, PowerShell, Python, Java, Chef, Ansible, bash)

The salary range for applicants for this position is 102,000-132,200.
