As a Lead Full Stack Engineer and Technical Product Owner in the Group Benefits Solutions Delivery organization in Cary NC, you will be responsible for leading technical design and development of cross functional, multiplatform application systems to solve complex business problems. The role will be a highly focused on technology driver supporting the digital platform and enablement by creating innovative solutions in support of the unique products being envisioned for the business. Drive adoption and evangelizing new technology and key process improvements within the technology department.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes, communicates and drives a complex set of integrations between MetLife SOR's and the digital Platform.
  • Monitors operating efficiency of existing application systems.
  • Support the e2e Functional technical team that implements the digital capabilities. Partner with teams to drive and enable MetLife digital transformation and its connected dependencies
  • Provides estimates for work efforts on new projects and for on-going forecasting
  • Administers, directs, motivates and develops key staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure the solutions & designs are in alignment with MetLife IT roadmap when required
  • Manage the development process and methodology to deliver tech requirements on time and with a high degree of precision and quality.
  • Manage user expectations and requirements scope. Participates in fit/gap analysis of functional requirements
  • Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, Test team, business users/BAs and applicable outside entities (vendors and others)


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:

  • Strong hands-on experience in NodeJS, Groovy, Java/Jscript, ReactJS, Remix, MongoDB REST and Microservices
  • Experience with Cloud based implementations in Azure, AWS, or similar.
  • Provide technical support throughout project lifecycle around technology platforms, solution design, security, debugging, profiling, performance tuning, data modelling, and REST API design
  • 7+ years' experience in Software Development and strong technical experience with building enterprise scale distributed web and mobile applications.
  • Proven record of success in driving excellent customer experience and Net Promotor Score (NPS) through digital transformation
  • Proven CI/CD, Agile, DevOps/Lean experience to ensure that project adapts to digital platform ecosystem
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with focused attention to details, as well as, demonstrated professionalism and time/task management skills; ability to establish strong relationships.
  • Strong Software Development Life Cycle knowledge and experience, or comparable methodologies
  • Microsoft Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio (or other design tools)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or related field
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to apply analysis to actionable insights


Preferred:

  • Experience in using application logging and monitoring tools like AppD/Splunk/Elastic
  • Experience with Adobe analytics and content management
  • Experience with omni-channel technologies
  • Experience working in Financial Services, Insurance and/or Banking experience is preferred
  • Technical experience with software that are enabled via cloud-based solution
  • Systems analyst skills and technical background to support review of technical proposals for IT projects and systems
