The Senior Category Manager, Technology must be self-motivated and experienced in driving positive results within multiple areas of the Technology categories, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Telecom. This individual must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and act as a change agent while leading a growing and complex category. Our mission is to help our stakeholders succeed, and this role is crucial in ensuring that Global Procurement aligns business goals with strategic sourcing initiatives.

Your Day to Day

As a Senior Category Manager, you would be working on:

  • Working at a Senior level, leading negotiations of complex technology category agreements with top-tier global  technology suppliers, ensuring the company secures best-in-class commercial terms and strategic partnerships while balancing speed, cost, and risk.

  • Conducting in-depth category analysis, supplier rationalization, and understanding GoTo’s and business leaders’ objectives to help them succeed.  Identifying how Global Procurement can support strategy through conducting sourcing events (RFx), savings opportunities, supplier consolidation, and alternative purchasing strategies.

  • Developing and executing category strategy plans by collaborating with Global Procurement leadership, Stakeholders, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) on budget strategy. Ensuring approved plans drive cost savings, efficiencies, supplier consolidation, supplier satisfaction, and contractual risk mitigation.

  • Conducting market research, cost analysis, contract compliance reviews, and ad-hoc problem solving where appropriate.  Synthesizing complex data into concise deliverables and present findings to management.

  • Acting with a sense of urgency.  Technology moves fast, and we must stay ahead while ensuring efficiency in sourcing and contract management. 

  • Challenging the status quo, continuously improving processes and identifying innovative technology sourcing strategies.

What We’re Looking For

As a Senior Category Manager, your background will look like:

  • 5-10 years of Strategic Sourcing global experience in technology sourcing spend categories SaaS, AI, and Telecom.

  • Strong influencing and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to own the outcome and drive supplier performance to meet stakeholders' needs, whether it involves cost savings, service improvements, risk mitigation, or strategic alignment.

  • Highly organized with the ability to take ownership of purchasing cycles, renewals, and overall procurement strategy.

  • Advanced negotiator with solid understanding of negotiation advantages/disadvantages, asking the right questions, concepts of Most Desirable Outcome (MDO)/Least Desirable Outcome (LDO)/Best Alternative to Negotiated Agreement (BATNA).  Proven record exceeding benchmarked savings discounts and results for majority of purchase assignments.

  • Advanced knowledge in data analytics and business metrics, with a proven ability to interpret data for informed decisions.  Skilled in negotiating contracts with Legal to align agreements with GoTo’s objectives.

  • Management experience in coaching and developing team members.

  • Be proactive and have a comfort level with working in an often ambiguous and changing environment, anticipating needs and staying ahead of them.

  • Excellent Financial/Quantitative data analytic skills.  Advanced user of Microsoft   Office including PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Strong partnership and knowledge of key requirements of FP&A, Finance, Legal, Privacy, Product & Technology, Security, and other business stakeholders

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent; MBA preferred

Annual Base Salary Range: $104,000.00 - $173,000.00

The above shows our ranges from minimum to maximum. Your compensation will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. You will also be eligible for a variable pay component and benefits.
