Flowserve Flow Control Division is looking for a technically and commercially experienced Applications Engineer. This role involves all customer activities related to control valve order acquisition process, including proposal development, scope specification and review, pricing analysis, and coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quotes for TAR (Turnaround) Projects.

  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with Sales, Operations and other functional departments to promote the best interests of the company.

  • Preparation of proposals in a timely and high-quality manner, within the limitations dictated by the client or manager, using tools and processes for designated job management.

  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the applications and types of valves, a clear understanding of the sizing principles and how they relate to valves and control systems.

  • Review all documents related to customer request / inquiry while addressing all relevant technical and business requirements.

  • Manage and monitor the proposal throughout the offering cycle, including updating and maintaining the workload management tool, while optimizing success rate tracking.

  • Lead all coordination efforts in quotes and promote close collaboration and communication with all parties involved (including credit, T&Cs legal, supply chain, planning, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Experience as an Applications Engineer or similar role such as, Inside Sales Representative, Engineer.  

  • BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 5–7 years relevant experience.

  • Good communication, organization and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset with mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to develop a clear understanding of life cycle cost principles and to create value-added propositions that differentiate Flowserve product offerings with the traditional first-cost approach.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work onsite 5 days a week (8AM–5PM) from our office in Houston.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Experience in the control valve industrial equipment manufacturer industry.
