The Product Manager position drives overall product strategy. The position contributes to direction and priorities across disciplines to bring product(s) to market and provides leadership to deliver product to market. Oversees life cycle for a product, from product definition to end of life. Supports driving financial results for offering based on key outcome metrics, which include profitable growth of market share in target segment and revenue & profit performance vs. plan.

Leads market, customer, and competitive research and analysis for the product and contributes to overall market assessment. 
 
Develops and delivers innovative products to market, defining or engaging expert stakeholders to define all product elements and value proposition including components (services, partnerships, etc.), functionality, UI/UX needs, customer success, and overall requirements. 
 
Collaborates and influences internal stakeholders to design and deliver innovative capabilities. Effective and efficient project management, driving pace and effective decision-making with both technical and commercial focus. 
 
Decides on capacity to release within development resource budgets, actively engaging in trade-off discussions between capability and schedule. Negotiates with the development team, drives the cross-functional collaborative efforts to meet offering schedule commitments, and actively manages plan risks associated with commitments. 
 
Sets direction for design, sales, and marketing to plan innovative go-to-market strategies. Determines marketing strategies by channel, converts technical positioning into key market messages, and indicates which specific competitors and products Merge's messaging and outreach must position against. Designs, organizes and delivers enablement/training to other stakeholders (e.g., sellers). 
 
Monitors follow-through across disciplines and takes action to mitigate risks. 
 
Delivers results against KPIs such as enhanced customer experience, service score and financial results.

Mastery and knowledge related to translating customer needs and buying preferences, market trends, technology capabilities and competitive insights into segment strategy and product design, requirements, and executing on that vision throughout the product life cycle.  

 
Has expert knowledge of offering's capabilities, potential buyers/personas/cohorts, customer buying patterns, and the marketplace. Understands future trends, technologies, and go-to-market strategies and has expert knowledge of competitive offering strengths, weaknesses, and capabilities. 
 
Communication/Negotiation:  
Interfaces with all levels of the organization and influences/impacts decisions on product strategy and direction. Has proven ability to influence agenda of other discipline leaders and work across other functional areas to develop integrated product offering. Leads across disciplines and across the enterprise, influencing key stakeholders and organizations, including executive management, when issues may arise. 
 

Problem Solving:  
Leads solving complex, highly visible business problems with the ability to structure problems with robust business logic, in a manner that allows other stakeholders to assess and align with proposed solution. 
 
Contribution/Leadership:  
Owns strategy for a product offering within a market segment. Sets detailed direction and priorities across disciplines to bring product to market and provides leadership to deliver product into the market. Oversees entire product life cycle from product definition to end of life. 
 
Impact on Business/Scope:  
Helps drive financial results for product based on key outcome metrics, which include profitable growth of market share in target segment and revenue & profit performance vs. plan. 
 
Project Management:  
Sets pace, discipline and direction across stakeholder groups in all stages of a project, from problem definition, through problem solving, solution design, to execution.
