About the Opportunity: We are a leading SaaS-based financial technology firm specializing in mortgage servicing solutions. We are seeking a Product Compliance Business Analyst to join our Compliance Department, focusing on cash management, general ledger, investor reporting, and credit bureau reporting within our mortgage servicing software. This role will ensure our platform supports compliant financial processing, accurate fund tracking, seamless integration with mortgage accounting requirements, and accurate reporting to investors and credit reporting agencies.


Your day-to-day at Sagent:

Financial & Compliance Process Analysis:

  • Analyze and document business requirements related to cash flow, general ledger reconciliation, payment processing, and escrow disbursement within the mortgage servicing platform.
  • Work with stakeholders to enhance system capabilities for loan payment processing, suspense account management, and investor remittance while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Identify inefficiencies in financial transaction workflows and recommend product improvements to enhance accuracy, security, and automation.

Credit Bureau and Investor Reporting Analysis:

  • Utilize existing knowledge of Credit Resource Reporting Guide (CRRG) codes and values to build requirements to ensure accurate credit bureau reporting (CBR) to ensure Sagent’s solutions are in compliance with Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requirements.
  • Utilize existing knowledge of investor (i.e. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae) and government insurer (i.e. FHA, VA, USDA) requirements to ensure Sagent’s solutions provide accurate reporting to these agencies.
  • Identify the appropriate controls needed to perform credit bureau and investor reporting validation and exceptions.
  • Understanding how data flows from transactional payment and account processing to impacting the reporting of credit bureau and loan activity to investors accurately.
  • Work with the Product Teams to ensure that functionality for credit reporting and investor reporting is accurate and meets all requirements. This includes but is not limited to Loan Boarding, Loan Transfers, Credit reporting as it relates to payment processing errors, disputes etc.
  • Work with the product to ensure an understanding of current and future credit reporting and investor reporting developments are tracked as part of regulatory change management framework and priorities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with compliance colleagues to translate mortgage servicing financial compliance needs into system requirements.
  • Work with software engineers and product managers to ensure accurate integration of general ledger functionality and all reporting requirements within loan servicing processes.
  • Provide guidance on evolving regulatory and investor reporting requirements, ensuring mortgage reporting transactions comply with industry standards.

Risk Identification & Compliance Support:

  • Identify and assess risks associated with cash transactions, loan accounting, and investor remittance processes within the mortgage servicing software.
  • Document financial controls and procedures to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in implementing system controls to mitigate financial and operational risks, ensuring compliance with mortgage servicing requirements.

Technical Knowledge Utilization:

  • Utilize expertise in mortgage servicing financial regulations, general ledger integration, loan payment reconciliation, credit bureau and investor reporting to support system enhancements.
  • Work with development teams to improve financial processing, escrow management, and compliance-driven investor and credit reporting capabilities.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for financial system updates, ensuring alignment with accounting best practices and compliance requirements.


We would love to hear from you if you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Regulatory Compliance, or relevant discipline with 2 - 4 years of experience in a related field. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated expertise in product compliance within the financial or technology sector.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Ability to provide guidance on compliance matters to cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of governance, risk activities, and physical security systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
