Safety is and always has been foundational to everything we do at Roblox. As a Principal Product Manager on the Safety team, you will own the vision, strategy and delivery of technology and user-facing experiences that have impact on company-wide goals and safety outcomes. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with leadership, engineering, product, design, data science, policy and operations teams across Roblox. This role reports to the Director of Product Management, Safety, based in San Mateo, CA and requires you to be at HQ 3 days/week.
What You’ll Do

  • Drive product vision, strategy and requirements from concept to launch.
  • Continuously reimagine product experiences that empower users to report abuse and improve platform-wide safety
  • Build downstream safety systems that can quickly and accurately take action on user reports and create feedback loops to automatically detect and mitigate abuse at scale
  • Develop and enhance experiences to drive user awareness about safety polies and help create a more civil and positive platform experience for all users and creators
  • Work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment across companies and time zones.
  • Navigate diverse stakeholder perspectives, user personas and balance competing priorities with high judgment
  • Partner with engineers, designers, analysts, and other product leaders in the company to define and complete complex cross-org initiatives.
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies, trade-offs and unblock critical initiatives.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in product design and management, with a track record of leading software projects across multiple teams and organizations.
  • Ability to think big and align leaders and teams across organizations on the vision and strategy
  • Implement relentlessly and inspire teams to achieve long-term goals
  • Top notch communication skills—both verbal and written—with the ability to influence and align stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and empathetic approach, with experience working across different geographies and cultures.
  • Adaptability and a problem-solving mindset—able to navigate ambiguity, evolving requirements, and incomplete data with confidence.
  • Expertise and past experiences in user-generated content (UGC) platforms, safety or safety adjacent products, content moderation etc. is a plus

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$324,450$375,590 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
