College Board – College Readiness Assessments

100% Remote; anticipated travel 3-5 times per year

About the Team

The College Readiness Assessments ("CRA") division is a team of mission-driven people who deliver the SAT Suite of Assessments (SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT10, and PSAT 8/9) to millions of students across the world each year to help open their paths to life after high school. The SAT Suite connects students to a wide range of post-high school opportunities, including scholarships, careers, and colleges and universities. In 2023, we retired the use of paper/pencil testing and are now a fully digital SAT Suite offering an assessment that is easier to give, easier to take, more secure, and more relevant.

The Program Information team ensures students and educators have an excellent experience with the SAT Suite of Assessments by developing engaging, clear, and accurate content to guide test administrations. By creating web content, emails, and instructional web-ready manuals and guides, we help educators administer our assessments effectively. This ensures that over four million students and thousands of testing staff have the information they need to be successful before, during, and after test day.

About the Opportunity

As the Senior Program Manager, SAT Portfolio & Implementation, you will play a pivotal role in reshaping how content is delivered to improve the experience for students and educators alike. You will develop and implement processes that support the creation of impactful written tools that empower test coordinators, educators, and students to deliver, administer, and take the SAT Suite of Assessments. Drawing on your expertise in content strategy and both web and print publishing, you’ll ensure that content is consistent, clear, and well-organized across multiple channels to best meet users’ needs. In collaboration with stakeholders across the organization, you will oversee the timely and accurate publication of more than 315 pdfs (like Test Coordinator Manuals) and 300 web pages. You will provide new workflow structures, leading cross-functional groups of authors, designers, copy editors, subject matter experts and technicians to deliver critical content accurately, within budget, and on time.

This Senior Director level role will report to the Executive Director, SAT Suite Program Information.

In this role, you will:

Content Management and Rationalization (20%)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain tools and processes to ensure that content is consistent and clear across multiple channels including PDFs, web pages, emails, and training tools

  • Redesign and lead a new intake process for new artifacts or content, including reconciliation with existing materials and recommendations to meet needs through existing or revised content

  • Review individual new artifacts or pieces of content to ensure consistency across channels

  • Partner with content strategists, authors, and UX teams to schedule and execute user research initiatives such as focus groups and surveys

Planning and Strategy (60%)

  • Create and own a new, end-to-end content development workflow that maximizes reuse through the CMS, supports late-stage changes, and drives accuracy and efficiency

  • Collaborate with the state implementation team to refine content review processes for state departments of education, implementing strategies that minimize reviews needed while ensuring feedback is captured and executed

  • Develop a system to anticipate conflicts or pressure points and independently and proactively recommend and take appropriate action to resolve those conflicts and balance workloads to align with project plan

  • Execute all the above toward the goal of delivering to users in time to prepare for upcoming test administrations

  • Work cross-functionally with authors, designers, copy editors, SMEs, and technicians to develop and maintain content development project plans that minimize redundancy, cost, and risk

Stakeholder Communication & Documentation (20%)

  • Establish effective communication channels with stakeholders, clients, and internal teams

  • Develop and implement mechanisms and structures to address concerns and facilitate solutions for any project-related issues

  • Collaborate with technology teams to ensure project plans account for content updates required by tech releases

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure that content is published in time to support key events like webinars, email campaigns, and training releases

  • Represent the SAT Suite Program Information team in cross-functional working groups (e.g., Digital Testing Scrum of Scrums) to ensure priorities and dependencies are addressed

About You

You have:

  • 7+ years of program and/or project management experience with a strong emphasis on web and print publishing

  • Formal project management credentials (e.g., PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, IPMA certification or equivalent certification from an accredited institution)
