We are looking for a Lead Product Designer to work with the Barron's Group Product Design team.

You will play a critical role in shaping the user experience and overall design strategy for products within the Barron's Group - including Barron's and MarketWatch. You will be responsible for crafting the visual and interaction design to collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring the product vision to life including SMEs, Editorial, Design, Engineering, Marketing, Research, and Product.

You will create experiences that engage and appeal to customers, enhance our usability and improve the user experience through the use of imagery, color, shapes, typography, and form, ensuring our experiences appear trustworthy, informative and true to our brand.

Your expertise should bring an understanding of component based design and design systems to contribute to a scalable, sustainable approach that enables speed to market, evolution, and optimization.

The Lead Product Designer will report to the Product Design Director, Barron's Group.

You Will:

  • Collaborate with product managers and others to define the design vision and ensure the design aligns with business goals and product roadmaps
  • Help prioritize design initiatives and feature sets based on user needs, business impact and technical feasibility, ensuring we meet requirements for accessibility
  • Explore and validate solutions by creating prototypes and interactive designs that demonstrate the functionality and flow of the product, actively participating in user testing
  • Bring industry best practices and maintain consistency in visual design and adherence to brand guidelines across all touchpoints.
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of product designs. Act as a bridge between design and engineering, ensuring designs are technically feasible and implemented correctly.
  • Be able to function as a UX lead for a project, independently organize and deliver on small to large size projects, including detailed execution, approvals and stakeholder acceptance.
  • Contribute to the creation of visual patterns in our design system
  • Use analytics, user feedback, and testing data to inform design decisions and optimize the user experience.
  • Ensure that design specifications and assets are properly documented and handed off to the development team. Provide guidance on how to implement designs to ensure a high-quality final product.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years experience in a similar role
  • Strong grasp of UI, HCI and UX principles and expertise in visual design, typography, color theory and layout
  • Understanding of best practices for mobile, web-based and responsive design
  • Proficient in design and prototyping tools like Figma
  • Experience working with component based design and Design Systems, and Agile
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates your experience and UX skills, illustrating step by step solutions for features
  • Ability to lead design initiatives and mentor junior designers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other teams

Pay Range: $135,000 - $155,000
