Job Description:
Richardson RFPD is looking for an experienced Field Sales Representative to create demand for our suppliers' products used in energy storage and power conversion applications within the Central or Eastern U.S.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Primary responsibility is to build & maintain influential relationships with customers, suppliers and Richardson RFPD partners in energy storage and power conversion applications, creating demand for our suppliers' active, passive and thermal products utilized in multiple power electronics topologies.
  • Key areas of responsibility are: Demand creation and relationship management focused on technical needs of complex, emerging, or underpenetrated prospects
  • Has an understanding of the primary power electronics components and is able to match those solutions to customer business needs. Experience with Silicon Carbide and GaN based designs is a major plus.
  • Will drive/create new opportunities and product selection within their accounts, and create demand activity using other technical resources as needed
  • Drive supplier and customer engineering relationships at multiple levels
  • Utilize distribution/rep/supplier knowledge to grow market share and sales
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and their reps
  • Account Management: Initiate and schedule regular visits to the customer facility driving new design opportunities and revenue for all the power electronics components available from our franchised lines
  • Create selling opportunities through a planned discovery process and strategic approach
  • Gain solid understanding of customer's needs and how to translate those needs to Richardson RFPD's requirements or opportunities
  • Executes on solution selling through a working knowledge of Richardson RFPD's supply chain solutions and design processes
  • Grow profit and maximize margins by selling value-added, long-term solutions, with emphasis on demand creation and coordinated engineering support
  • Relationships: Staying current on power electronics product knowledge and/or gaining technical certifications
  • Attend supplier training events to keep up-to-date on product line
  • Maintains supplier databases and keeps design registration information accurate. Knowledge of Salesforce a plus.
  • Stay updated on current related technologies in customer base, and attend training as needed
  • Guides others in resolving complex issues in specialized area based on existing solutions and procedures
  • Serves as an expert within own discipline
  • Serves as a resource for best practices/quality on functional teams or projects
  • Trains/mentors junior staff


What We're Looking For:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related power electronics sales/field applications experience with a 4-year degree;
  • Detailed working experience pertaining to high power components including IGBTs, MOSFETs, electrolytic/film capacitors, supercapacitors and thermal management products
  • Must have a strong understanding of the territory you will be working in
  • Experience in a sales environment, component supplier or distribution channel, preferred.
  • Must have working industry knowledge
  • Must have a drive to succeed


The Skills That Will Help You Succeed Even More:

  • Silicon Carbide and GaN power semiconductor experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy, transportation and industrial markets
  • Knowledge of established customers in Central or Eastern U.S.
  • Sales experience with a Distributor or Power Electronics Component manufacturer
  • Manufacturers Rep experience


Work Arrangement:

  • Fully Remote: Must be able to travel to a Richardson RFPD office location as requested by Richardson RFPD leadership

Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:
$122,600.00 - $190,146.70
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
