At Lineage, as our business continues to grow in size and complexity across the globe, we're looking for a Workday Release Manager responsible for coordinating periodic Workday and related technology releases across Finance, HR and IT teams. This role will be mainly responsible for the successful implementation of large, complex, global technology projects and involves the coordination of technical and functional resources across multiple teams, often working concurrently on several global projects and releases. The Workday Release Manager is also responsible for ensuring overall stakeholder alignment, including communication both inside and outside the team and the organization, dependency identification and resolution, proper prioritization and execution of project tasks and milestone establishment and tracking. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain release management plan for coordinating Workday releases across Finance ERP and HRIS platforms.
  • Manage all Workday releases across Finance and HRIS platforms: weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual as well as functionality deployments and acquisition integration projects.
  • Work with business and IT stakeholders as well as vendors to coordinate Workday releases.
  • Plan release schedules for Workday enhancements and fixes, new module implementations, acquisition integrations and backlog items.
  • Manage the product release management process including release planning, testing, implementation across different Workday tenants as well as release announcement review and publication.
  • Manage delivery against the Workday roadmap for Financial Management and HRIS functionality rollout, feature adoption planning and acquisition integrations.
  • Manage large technical projects (i.e., involving up to 20+ resources) by establishing strong relationships with functional and technical teams. Ensure discipline around requirement definitions, project planning and resource availability to meet team and corporate objectives
  • Partner with project sponsors, project teams, other project/ product managers to help evaluate technical and business requirements and to identify, develop and implement approaches and solution alternatives
  • Work closely with third parties, including consulting and technology partners
  • Integrate inputs and schedules from multiple sources to create comprehensive project plans with an identifiable critical path, task dependencies and major milestones and manages the project plans and schedules ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, time and quality parameters
  • Adapt project plans, schedules and resource assignments as required throughout projects to respond to emerging requirements, changing project dynamics, stakeholder goals and project risks
  • Effectively communicate overall project status including milestones, project deadlines and relevant risks to teams, stakeholders and company management
  • Develop project charter, requirements and scope documents and manages projects throughout the full project life cycle through the creation, collection and maintenance of project documentation in accordance with standards established by the Program Management Office (PMO)
  • Assist in the development of reusable project collateral that can be leveraged across projects and the broader organization
  • Oversee all manner of project activities, including the testing of functional and technical components of the final project solution
  • Track and report monthly progress of Workday releases to senior IT leadership. Identify and monitor potential risks and implement mitigation plan by working with the product leads.
  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external support teams characterized by shared responsibility, open communication and transparency, while holding them accountable.
  • Communicate impact summary of upcoming releases to the relevant business and IT audiences
  • Manage Workday tenant usage at Lineage across various initiatives and coordinate refresh schedules across project teams
  • Share knowledge of best practices, process improvement and project management skills

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • 2-7 years of release and project management experience working with enterprise application software
  • University degree or equivalent work experience in software engineering, computer science or finance / business administration
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/ written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • One year or more of Workday/ ERP project management experience in a full-platform, global environment is strongly preferred
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management, Freight Forwarding and/or Contract Logistics is preferred
  • One or more Workday certifications is preferred; Workday Financials certification is desired, but not required
  • Project management certification is preferred
  • Working proficiency with Project Management tools such as JIRA, Smartsheets as well as MS Office
  • Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing both small- and large-scale projects
  • Knowledge of project management best practices and methodologies
  • Ability to deliver on commitments while working on multiple projects concurrently
  • Hold team members accountable, set clear performance expectations, resolve performance issues and keep project teams engaged, focused and on task
  • Willingness to act decisively to improve project and organizational performance and address project issues
  • Lead a project team, create and maintain group cohesiveness, interact with internal and external customers and effectively manage partner relationships
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Possess a willingness and the flexibility to work non-standard hours to meet time-critical, global project deadlines
  • A team player that is willing to ask for help and provide it to others
  • Ability and desire to learn and apply new technologies and business concepts
