Job Description:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Budget and Financial Planning, the Workday Adaptive Information Systems Manager is responsible for leading the improvements of Workday Adaptive Planning, overseeing integrations with key systems, and optimizing the system to meet the College’s budget forecasting and financial reporting needs in both Operating and Capital Budgets. The Workday Adaptive IS Manager serves as a subject matter expert related to Financial budgeting business processes in both Workday Adaptive Planning and Workday Financial systems functionality, configuration and capabilities. The Workday Adaptive IS Manager is responsible for supporting the use of the Workday Adaptive Budget modules and works closely with the department owners and user community to make sure the College is taking full advantage of all the features and functionality of the Workday Budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning, Annual Budgeting, Rolling Forecasts, Driver-Based Modeling, Workforce Planning, Data and Reporting Strategies, and technology solutions that support the College’ business financial planning.

  • Lead improvement on Workday/Adaptive Planning and implementation of Workday Adaptive Enterprise

  • Oversee the development of comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with the company's strategic goals and objectives.

  • Oversee and deploy integrations between Adaptive and key systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, etc.)

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Adaptive Planning processes with the Senior Director of Budget and Financial Planning.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand department requirements, configure Workday/Adaptive Planning Financial Solutions, demonstrate configurations using prototype systems and provide testing.

  • Perform system configuration and maintenance evolving business needs in addition to ensuring data integrity through aggregate analysis and an understanding of the processes deployed.

  • Perform maintenance, and support a variety of budgeting financial reports and queries – both standard and custom, including the implementation of Workday/Adaptive Dashboards.

  • Responsible for Workday/Adaptive systems to identify and resolve tenant configuration, business process and/or integration issues while making recommendations for and implementing process improvements.

  • Review business procedures and workflows to ensure system features are being fully utilized and identify Workday/Adaptive features that may improve efficiency.

  • Works with the Information Technology Services Department to maintain system interfaces and necessary data integrations with other campus financial systems.

  • Provides user training and ongoing support for budget-related Workday/Adaptive Planning modules, for efficient use of both existing functionality and emerging functionality changes.

  • Ensuring a quality system, by partnering and collaborating Information Technology Services Department and other cross-functional Workday leads to troubleshooting and resolving production application issues.  Coordinate, review, test, and implement ongoing Workday/Adaptive system upgrades or patches.

  • Designs, develops, test, and implement configuration to meet best practice utilizing the established standards and protocols. Challenges current operational norms, to drive innovative thinking and problem solving and streamlined efficient processes utilizing available Workday/Adaptive functionality.

  • Keeps current with Enrollment Net Tuition Revenue Model (NTR), reviewing and assessing Tuition, Student Discounts, Room & Board revenue and understanding and communicating the impacts to the annual budget models in functionality to business owners.

  • Acts as the liaison to Enrollment and BOL.POPP Departments on all Tuition, Room & Board, and Student Discount budget forecasting matters.

  • Ability to analyze data to find insights, think through problems & recommend solutions.

  • Participate in ongoing change control process, ensuring the impacts on the budget modules are acceptable.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
     

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree desirable.

  • Minimum of v  3-5 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, Experience implementing and managing Workday Adaptive Planning. Experience integrating Adaptive Planning with other systems (ERPs, CRMs, HRISs)

  • Proven ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into financial plans and actionable insights. Experience in supporting strategic decision-making processes.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data, develop accurate forecasts, and identify trends and opportunities.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial concepts and insights to diverse audiences, including senior executives and non-financial stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines. Proven adaptability and flexibility to navigate ambiguity and drive results.

  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism in handling confidential information and making financial decisions.

  • 2+ years of functional Workday Financials experience and implementation experience preferred.

  • Background and experience in accounting operations strongly preferred

  • Ability to build consensus across different levels within the College

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills – able to think through issues, and provide alternate solutions, which are well-thought-out

    Organization skills to thrive in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment

  • Highly collaborative; willing to share knowledge and expertise

  • Has or plans to obtain Workday Pro Certification for Finance
