Over 90% of our users play games, spending a combined 1.5 billion hours playing thousands of unique titles on Discord each month. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games.

Discord is looking for an experienced Web Manager to support our Core Platform Marketing team composed of web managers, content writers, project managers, and external agencies. You'll be contributing to our site strategy execution & operation, and managing project deliverables/OKRs through the entirety of their digital lifecycle. As a Web Manager you'll help oversee the delivery of all discord.com marketing projects from ideation through execution while keeping the health of our digital channels top of mind. This role would report to the Head of Web & Editorial.

Work alongside many teams including: Product, Social, Video, Experiential, Comms, Legal, Policy, CX, Data, and Creative. The Brand Marketing team crafts all external channels and touchpoints of Discord, bringing our values and voice to life.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Draft plans, processes, and timelines to clearly align, operationalize, and guide our team and agency resources on site development projects
  • Be a connector across MarComm, Product, Engineering, and Policy teams to help build and manage Discord’s web presence through discord.com as an extension of our product
  • Highlight potential project risks, help solve project progress blockers, and support the web team in proactively solving issues related to our web CMS and marketing site stack. Develop support documentation including risk logs and requirement specifications for our ongoing digital channel efforts
  • Manage the front & back-end development of web projects as well as the upkeep of our content management system (CMS) via content management, audits, and structural updates
  • Help coordinate internal and external (agency or freelance) resources for writing, graphic design, SEO, and other asset creation related to discord.com
  • Support the construction & maintenance of both new and existing discord.com architecture from concept through completion. Test compatibility, monitor online traffic, and ensure site functionality and security alongside our engineering teams
  • Identify, scope, and triage technical issues both reactively and proactively across our web stack. Collaborate closely with product engineering to ensure a flawless user experience between our website and product

What you should have

  • You bring an exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for digital content integrity
  • Experience communicating with empathy cross-functionally to influence and educate on website development and processes
  • 6+ years of experience managing websites & website content production
  • Proven work experience as a digital project manager
  • Hands-on experience with project management software such as Notion, Asana
  • Strong level of proficiency in front-end Webflow development, including:
    • A strong command of the Webflow interface, including its panel for elements, styles, basic and advanced interactions, and CMS features to be able to support site content creation and updates
    • Ability to use Webflow’s custom code integration to implement more complex interactive elements, custom forms, third-party integrations, and other site experiences beyond the native Webflow interface
    • Understanding of development for cross-browser compatibility in Webflow using CSS styles and interactions
    • Familiarity with Webflow page optimization techniques including image compression, minifying CSS and JavaScript, and utilizing Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to reduce load times
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Extra credit if you have an understanding of subcultures and fandoms of many kinds!

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
