Summary
We are seeking a seasoned, entrepreneurial, and relationship-driven professional to join our growing Tech & Venture Capital Banking team as Vice President in Austin, TX. This role is ideal for someone with a proven track record in business development, client relationship management, and a deep understanding of the startup and venture capital ecosystem.
You will take a leadership role in building and managing high-value relationships with startups, VC firms, and ecosystem stakeholders across Austin, TX and other innovation hubs in Texas. You'll be responsible for sourcing and closing new business, managing key accounts, and representing the bank at high-level industry events.
Responsibilities

  • Originate and lead new business opportunities with high-growth startups, venture-backed companies, and venture capital/private equity firms.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for banking products and services tailored to the innovation economy in Texas.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-impact client relationships, overseeing all aspects of onboarding, treasury solutions, credit, and long-term relationship management.
  • Represent the bank at industry events, venture conferences, pitch competitions, and founder/investor gatherings to deepen market visibility and influence.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to founders, CFOs, and VC partners, offering guidance on banking, capital structure, and financial operations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to design and deliver customized solutions across credit, treasury, and other banking needs.
  • Drive partnerships with accelerators, incubators, and other startup support organizations across Texas.


Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in banking, venture capital, private equity, or high-growth startup environments.
  • Deep knowledge of the startup and venture capital ecosystem, particularly in Austin and the broader Texas innovation economy.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, relationship management, and sales.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Highly organized, entrepreneurial, and self-directed, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally for business development and relationship management.
  • Must be based in the Austin, TX area
  • Prior management experience in a startup bank, venture backed startup, VC, or PE firm.
  • Active network of founders, VCs, and ecosystem leaders in Austin and other Texas cities.
  • Exposure to capital call lines and other structured credit products.
