VP. Strategic Operations/Chief of Staff

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic VP of strategic operations/chief of staff role to play a critical role in leading and executing organizational initiatives This pivotal role will drive cross-functional success, ensuring accountability and efficiency in our operations. This role will be a right hand to the COO to help their teams become more effective by running annual planning, measuring performance metrics, observing/listening for operational needs, and reducing admin burden. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare operations, project management, and a passion for people excellence. This position requires a forward-thinking leader who can navigate complex challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure alignment across all departments within the organization. The role is multi-faceted and requires a leader to be nimble and operate at the top of their license in a fast pace ever changing environment. 

Location: Remote | USA | Travel Required

Responsibilities:

Cross-Functional Initiatives:

  • Collaborate with departments to drive specific initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and conversion health.
  • Serve as the primary stakeholder for product and IT, ensuring critical projects are completed on time and meet organizational goals. Support and drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure operational excellence for both internal stakeholders and external clients, members, and providers.
  • Coordinate and ensure effective time management and prioritization of key meetings and events across the operational function of the organization (COO org)

Continuous improvement

  • Prepare and analyze reports, dashboards, and presentations, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making.
  • Lead and facilitate key operational projects that align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and report on operational performance metrics and KPIs, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between the COO and other executives, departments, and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of transparency and teamwork. 
  • This lead role will be responsible to align all business stakeholders for mid-year and end of year operational health.
  • Support in developing and implementing processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Lead and optimize workflows in support of delivery model and product enhancements: (e.g., Clinical navigation and Infusion care)

People Excellence

  • Foster a culture of engagement and accountability across the operations team.
  • Support talent management initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, and professional development, to ensure a high-performing workforce.
  • Foster a positive organizational culture by promoting values of collaboration, integrity, and excellence.
  • Leadership development: In collaboration with the COO, support, and coach your leadership team (from supervisor levels to VPs) on their team performance, scaling, hiring, cross-functional collaboration, policy & process creation and adoption, people development, and team culture initiatives. 

Resource management and budget planning

  • Oversee budget planning and management for operational initiatives.
  • Ensure financial resources are allocated effectively to support critical projects. Own resource planning, management, and budget planning across the operations organization.
  • Key owner of the complex resource management across the member services operations working in partnership with the SVP of member services.
  • Will be the ley leader navigating and driving our annual strategy initiatives in close partnership with our Chief Transformation officer.

KPI and OKR Engagement:

  • Drive the development and monitoring of KPIs and Key Results (KRs) to measure success and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with teams to set achievable targets and implement action plans to reach them.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or a related field; master’s degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, ideally as a Chief of Staff, Operations Manager, or similar position within a high-growth organization.
  • At least 3 years of experience working for a large healthcare consulting organization
  • Strong understanding of organizational dynamics, strategic planning, and operational management.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools; familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools is a plus.
  • Travel required: approx. 25%
