Job purpose:
Reporting to the CFO, this position is responsible for driving the continuing evolution of the Finance operating model. This role will be accountable for evaluating the current engagement model of Finance, both from a process and technology perspective, enacting change where appropriate. Collaborating with the Finance leadership team, Executive leadership team, and other key stakeholders, the VP, Finance Operations and Transformation will be charged with aligning partner needs/business requirements in conjunction with the TruStage operating model to optimize the role Finance plays. Acting as a change champion, this role will drive modernization and efficiency across the functional business areas.
Job responsibilities:
- Document and evaluate key areas of the Finance business process/technology against relevant benchmarks and measures of success.
- Ensure proper training and communication strategies are in place for all aspects of Finance modernization and transformation.
- Evolve the management process to ensure the proper balance of metric driven management, operating and strategic focus, accountability, and ultimate connection back to TruStage customers.
- In conjunction with key partners, define the model by which to prioritize and drive analytic and optimization efforts across the business, ensuring connection back to the annual and strategic business plans.
- Align the governance model to standardize business case development and prioritization of investment decisions.
- Collaborate with the Technology team to continue the modernization of Finance platforms and data strategy, in alignment with the broader TruStage process and risk framework.
- Provide expertise and guidance to rationalize business resource optimization and capacity planning across key initiatives.
- Drive a higher level of connectivity across all aspects of the Financial functions.
Experiences/Capabilities:
- 15+ years experience in senior roles, within or supporting Finance, preferably in Insurance or Financial Services industries.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in Finance transformation.
- Demonstrated experience developing and leading large-scale transformation and effective change management practices.
- Project management methodology knowledge: Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., agile, lean) and how to apply them to Finance value streams.
- Strong leadership skills to provide vision and support to the Finance team, mentor individuals, and develop high-performing talent.
- Executive leadership experience with distributed teams focusing on team success and inclusivity
- Expertise in leading organizational change, driving collaboration, and building excitement in others to embrace change.
- Evidence of building trusted relationships across an organization to influence & promote efficient decision-making.
- Build trust with others through transparency, reliability, and acting with integrity.
- Analytical expertise to assess program effectiveness and guide data-driven decisions
- Travel up to 25%
