The Vice President, Transport Partnerships, will report to the Chief Commercial Officer of Expedia Group. This critical role leads commercial partnerships and growth in air travel and ground transport, while also developing new revenue opportunities across all supply  

 

As a key member on the Travel Partnerships and Media Leadership Team, you will lead a global team of 45+, supported by Strategy, Commercial Operations, Revenue Optimization, Commercial Finance, Analytics, Partner and Customer Support, Product, and Technology. 

 

Success will stem from your passion to grow business with current and new partners. In this role, you will become a well-known leader in the travel industry, with a senior public profile that involves public speaking events, industry trade events, and media opportunities. 

 

What you’ll do:  

  • Drive commercial excellence through: strong commercial mindset and expert knowledge in leading multi-line of business teams, negotiations, analytics, problem solving, and relationship building 

  • Develop and execute the commercial vision, strategy, and objectives for air, car rental, rail, and emerging business lines 

  • Manage pipeline, deal qualification, and execution, and lead complex contract negotiations with a large portfolio of diverse global partners 

  • Identify and evaluate market trends, demands and competitive landscapes to ensure the business stays ahead of targets 

  • Regularly evaluate performance against targets and established financial metrics​ 

  • Develop and execute initiatives that will deliver increased efficiency and commercial excellence 

  • Partner with the Product, Technology, and Operations teams to deliver relevant product offerings, balancing the voice of the customer, partner, and Expedia 

  • Travel extensively to partners and team 

  • Lead and motivate the team to deliver against targets and address roadblocks quickly, transparently, and efficiently. Proactively identify factors affecting performance and deliver timely and relevant intelligence 

  • Provide impactful leadership and coaching, and create a compelling unifying vision that steers, motivates and develops the organization. Attract, hire, and engage a skilled, ambitious, passionate and results-focused commercial team 

  • Coach leaders on creating a culture that encourages strong and broad relationships across the business and with relevant industry partners 

 

Who you are:  

  • A travel industry expert with a track-record in delivering to commercial targets within a fast-paced, methodical, and process-orientated environment 

  • Dynamic, adaptable, proactive and agile leader with 15+ years of commercial sales and account management experience across multiple lines of business within a fast-paced environment 

  • A strategic thinker with knowledge of the Air and Car industries and ambition for growth and an analytically minded approach with proven negotiation and influencing skills 

  • Thought leader in the travel and hospitality industry, comfortable with speaking engagements at large industry events, podcasts, etc.​ 

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $277,000 to $387,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $443,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
