  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to define requirements and translate business objectives into intuitive user experiences.
  • Design Solutions: Develop and maintain consistent design systems, user interfaces, and user journeys that align with the overall product vision.
  • Usability Testing: Conduct usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback and testing results.
  • Multivariate Testing: Test all design and copy changes using an MVT testing tool to ensure statistically significant improvements in key metrics, including conversion rates.
  • Stay Current: Keep up to date with industry trends, tools, and best practices to enhance user experiences and design processes.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in UX design / UX research
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your design process and user-centered designs.
  • Tools: Proficiency in Figma and with multivariate testing tools
  • Skills: Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, wireframing, prototyping, multivariant A/B testing, and usability testing.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex design challenges.
  • Adaptability: Ability to iterate and evolve design concepts based on feedback and testing.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
