POSITION SUMMARY 

Want to be part of a team that is a global leader in weather, serving trillions of requests monthly?  We are looking for a Technical Writer with an interest in and passion for clearly documenting technical information through various forums; someone who likes to analyze and prepare documentation, articles, and support materials and is curious about how software functions.

We’re looking for someone who loves innovation, leveraging cutting edge technologies, and enhancing the AccuWeather experience.  In this position, you will develop, document, and disseminate technical information for our customer-facing products and will have a direct and meaningful impact on our end-user experience.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Develops functional, efficient, and peer reviewed documentation
•    Writes internal and customer-facing documentation
•    Translates technical info into easily understood documentation
•    Ensures established processes and standards are followed
•    Seeks clarification and assistance on advanced problems
•    Contributes to an enthusiastic, positive, work environment
•    Builds relationships across functions and departments
•    Works independently, is self-motivated with great organizational skills
  

QUALIFICATIONS 

•    BA / BS in related discipline, 3+ years’ experience in related field
•    Demonstrated writing experience and knowledge of software development practices
•    Working knowledge of CMS systems or similar documentation management systems
•    Experience with modern scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, Ruby, CSS
•    Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN)
•    Self-driven; good problem-solving skills; adaptable and willing to take ownership
•    Good verbal and written communication skills; achieves consensus with peers
•    Demonstrates critical thinking, creative skills, and use of design, diagrams, and charts
