What we are looking for:  

OmniData is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will manage multiple technical projects and interface directly with end clients. What you will do:  

As a Technical Project Manager at OmniData, you will manage several simultaneous Big Data, Data Warehousing, and Analytics consulting projects. Your responsibilities include building strong relationships with internal team members, senior leadership, and clients. You must have the skills to manage team delivery, identify and mitigate project risks, and resolve issues as they arise. 

 

Your Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Instill confidence in your clients, project teams, and senior leadership.  
  • Follow the OmniData project management methodology that is implemented for both internal project teams and external clients  
  • Manage timelines, deadlines, and identify any major risks that occur  
  • Teach customers how to use the PMO tools and processes for their projects when necessary  
  • Attend and lead meetings, as well as providing major project updates to various parties involved  
  • Coordinate cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals and expectations.  
  • Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular status reports to stakeholders. 
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and risk assessments. 
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. 
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successful elements and areas for improvement. 
  • Provide leadership and direction to project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. 
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within scope, time, and cost constraints. 

 

 

Required Skills: 

  • 5+ years of experience managing technical projects (experience within Data Analytics is a plus) 
  • Experience working with the latest project management tools (Such as: Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar tools) 
  • Experience working in an Agile project management setting  
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interface with clients of various degrees of technical knowledge  
  • Ability to coach customers and project team members on the project methodologies used at OmniData  

 

Nice to Haves: 

  • Basic knowledge and experience working with the latest Microsoft Data Analytics technologies (Such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, or similar)  
  • Project Management/Scrum Certifications, such as: PMP, CAPM, CSM, Etc. 
  • Previous experience working in a consulting company
