Summary:
You will join the Centro Engineering team and lead a team of developers to build applications that integrate with external systems to support products that revolutionize the way we do business. You will help manage the team’s backlog, apply industry standards and best practices, evangelize code quality and correctness, take into consideration longer-term vision and goals, and see around corners when there are technical decision points. In addition to your team, you will work closely with technical leadership, product managers, and the QA team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of developers, both onshore and offshore, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Golang.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship new features and integrations with external systems.

Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Build out and improve ETL processes and data architecture.

Identify and correct application performance bottlenecks and fix bugs.

Maintain exacting standards for code quality and organization, with an eye for automation of processes.

Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain competitive.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
Core Competency Requirements

Previous experience working as a technical lead or demonstrating strong technical leadership on a team.

Strong proficiency in Golang, as well as common libraries.
-
Experience working with ORMs.
-
Experience working with unit test frameworks and writing unit tests.
-
Experience working with both onshore and offshore development teams.
-
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
-
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
-
Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
-
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Competency Nice to Haves
-
Experience with ETL workflow orchestration tooling.
-
Experience working in the insurance industry.
-
Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Experience with monitoring and observability tooling such as DataDog.
Education, Training and Experience:
-
5+ years of development experience, including 2+ years as a senior/lead engineer.

Proven track record of building and delivering software solutions to solve complex business problems.

Experience leading development teams.
-
Experience working in Agile SDLC.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $150,000 to $175,000 per year.
Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance. We also offer eligible employees health, wellbeing, retirement, and other financial benefits, paid time off, overtime pay for non-exempt employees, and robust learning and development programs.
