Job Summary

The TBM Strategy and Planning Manager is a dedicated internal consultant who supports strategy formulation and financial planning for one of The Standard’s most critical organizations, the IT Division. As a partner to VP’s and Sr Directors, the role supports decisions on multi-year initiatives that will have a significant impact on our future, including M&A.

  • Build strong relationships with IT leaders to promote open dialogue regarding IT strategy and ensure management has the analytics and operational insights necessary to understand the cost structure of the existing landscape, changes in that landscape and opportunities to optimize through informed decision making.

  • Support alignment, integration, and synchronization of IT strategies with multi-year forecasts for operating and capital investment.

  • Lead business case development, perform data-driven analysis and contribute recommendations supporting IT strategy, roadmaps and target setting.

  • Lead project work that is broad in scope and requires creativity, flexibility, analytical abilities, structured thinking and strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Independently structure strategic plans and analyze business problems, including assessments of risks, investment benefits, and operational agility.

Skills and Background You’ll Need

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, information systems, computer science, economics, business Analytics, or operations research. An MBA or advanced degree in business is preferred.

  • At least 7 years of progressive finance, strategy, or management consulting experience. Experience at a top-tier consulting firm or internal strategy group of a technology-driven company is preferred.

  • Experience in IT financial management and supporting IT strategy development with a focus on Agile/DevOps practices, digital transformation or Technology Business Management (TBM) programs.

  • Familiarity with Apptio, ACORD enterprise architecture, or APQC Process Classification Framework for the insurance industry is preferred but not required. High preference for Apptio.

  • Advanced level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency in data visualization software (i.e. Power BI) preferred.

  • Strong project leadership

  • Professional certification preferred: CSCA, FP&A, Balanced Scorecard, CTBME, ITIL, IT4IT, FinOps

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

 

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$107,250.00 - $156,750.00
