Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Systems Administrator (SME) who will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex system issues, implementing system architectures, optimizing system performance, and ensuring robust security measures are in place. This role requires a deep understanding of operating systems, hardware, network protocols, security, and cloud technologies, along with the ability to work collaboratively with other administrators and provide technical leadership. This effort will be in support of a contract in the Clarksburg, WV area although, the position is Remote.
Successful Systems Administrator will possess a broad and diverse range of competencies to include, troubleshooting network issues and implementing security protocols. In addition, they need to stay current with digital and technical trends and emerging technologies.
Responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving complex system issues that may require in-depth analysis and creative solutions.
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of new system architectures, including server configurations, network topology, and data storage solutions.
  • Monitoring system performance metrics and identifying bottlenecks to optimize system efficiency and uptime.
  • Implementing robust security measures, managing user access controls, and remaining updated and aware of emerging cyber threats
  • Forecasting future system needs and planning for hardware upgrades or infrastructure scaling to accommodate growth.
  • Providing technical guidance and training to other system administrators on best practices and new technologies.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Minimum of five years' experience with enterprise network administration tools.
  • Expert understanding of specific operating systems, hardware, network protocols, security measures, and cloud technologies relevant to their organization.
  • Expert knowledge of Linux operating systems, including system configuration, shell scripting, and package management
  • Advanced expertise in managing Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and related technologies.
  • Deep understanding of AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including cloud security and resource management
  • Expertise in network infrastructure, routing protocols, firewalls, and network security
  • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, and SAFe.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • CompTIA Security+ or similar
  • Familiar with cloud-based security systems and solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Strong attention to detail with adept problem-solving and analytical skills


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $106654 - $181311
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
