Join us to invest in yourself, your career, and the financial world.

The role:

We are seeking a strategic and experienced leader to oversee the Performance function within the Supplier Management Office (SMO). This role is critical to shaping and executing our supplier oversight strategy, ensuring consistent performance management and accountability across the enterprise. You will be instrumental in building and evolving a hybrid operating model that centralizes oversight of key third parties within the SMO while also supporting Supplier Relationship Owners (SROs) outside the SMO.

This individual will collaborate closely with risk partners, business units, and leadership to ensure our third-party risk management (TPRM) practices align with US regulatory standards and meet expectations across a global operating environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the performance management function within the SMO, ensuring consistent application of KPIs, scorecards, and performance oversight practices across supplier tiers.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and career development while fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture.
  • Collaborate to define and help drive our hybrid supplier oversight strategy, balancing centralized controls for critical suppliers with enabling SROs outside the SMO to oversee lower-risk suppliers.
  • Develop and implement supplier performance governance routines, escalation protocols, and issue remediation processes in line with US regulatory expectations.
  • Partner across the enterprise with business units, risk stakeholders, and legal teams to drive transparency and accountability in supplier oversight.
  • Build and refine reporting and dashboards that deliver insights to leadership, highlight supplier trends, and support internal or regulatory reviews.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in supplier performance for audits, regulatory exams, and internal working groups.

What you’ll need:

  • 8+ years of experience in third-party risk management, supplier performance management, procurement, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of people management experience, including directly managing, developing, and coaching a team.
  • Proven experience working in a US-based global company, with a strong understanding of US third-party risk standards, regulatory expectations, and compliance obligations (e.g., OCC, CFPB, FFIEC).
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing strategy in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in implementing or enhancing supplier performance frameworks, scorecards, or ongoing monitoring tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, supply chain, or a related field.

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting or implementing a hybrid oversight model (centralized SMO + decentralized SROs).
  • Familiarity with third-party risk technology platforms (e.g., Archer, Venminder, ServiceNow, Coupa).
  • Background in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
  • Exposure to global supplier ecosystems and managing suppliers across jurisdictions.
  • Certifications such as CTPRP or CRVPM.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
