We're seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our multi-disciplinary Shipping Solutions Team. This team builds tools for customers who use Flexport’s emerging Booking Management and Order Management systems to connect with their suppliers and contractors, putting you at the center of a developing product with direct impact to the company’s business strategy. This role is perfect for someone who wants to think creatively about operator processes and logistics technology, and get to partner closely with business stakeholders on one of the company’s hallmark products. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with multiple stakeholder groups including engineering, business, and operations, and will have demonstrated success in running multi-team projects. Familiarity with the logistics industry or manufacturing is a plus, but not required. 

  • Work closely with business partners, engineering, and operations teams to align on project scope, timelines, and ownership.
  • Work with engineering teams to validate technical approaches and influence architecture decisions.
  • Lead technical, cross team projects from initiation through launch and testing including evaluating results and metrics.
  • Prepare written and verbal communication and updates for stakeholders and leadership including executive-team level meetings.
  • Mitigate risks and dependencies by simplifying project implementation approaches, and enable to team to build and launch features rapidly and incrementally. 
  • Ensure our products maintain a high-quality bar. We believe in anticipating issues by obsessing over metrics and applying key learnings from post-mortems to all our services.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management.  
  • Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional software projects at a large start up, or another fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical background, with the ability to understand and contribute to discussions on architecture and design.
  • Deep understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.

The US base salary range for this position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.)

$185,000$206,000 USD
