As a Staff Technical Program Manager at Workiva, you'll play a pivotal role in our cross-departmental programs, shaping the future of our product development and strategic initiatives. Your role is about more than just managing programs; it's about inspiring collaboration, mediating conflicts, and ensuring our projects deliver tangible results. What You'll Do

  • Deliver Success: Lead the charge in delivering program success across the full product development lifecycle and driving projects forward within the program

  • Metrics and Feedback: Regularly gather and report on project/program metrics, seeking feedback to improve our progress updates

  • Dependency Management: Coordinate and oversee dependencies, collaborating with teams to ensure project success and accelerate milestones

  • Program Reviews: Conduct regular program/project reviews with leaders, providing status updates and recommending actions for success

  • Collaboration Champion: Foster collaboration at all levels—up, sideways, and down to the project level

  • Program Assessment: Work closely with stakeholders to determine program success and plan for the implementation of successful programs while discontinuing unsuccessful ones

  • Innovation Culture: Support the cultivation of a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

  • Strategic Execution: Focus on executing our strategy, delivering benefits, and realizing our strategic goals through the design, planning, and delivery of strategic initiatives

  • Change Agent: Drive change by promoting business agility, communicating effectively, and institutionalizing a culture of adaptability

  • Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve conflicts within the program, ensuring smooth collaboration

  • Cross-functional leadership: Partner closely with colleagues and stakeholders to lead, assist, or stay informed about collaborative programs and initiatives that have the potential for broad-scale impact

  • Building Relationships: Network with stakeholders to build cross-functional relationships that help shape, define, and execute our strategies and initiatives

What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

  • 6 years of project/program management or similar experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMI certification (e.g., PMP, PMI ACP, or PRINCE 2), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification, and/or proficiency with Jira Agile are a plus

  • A robust grasp of the product development life-cycle.

  • Understanding of the SaaS market in relation to program management

  • A passion for collaboration, spending the majority of your time communicating, collaborating, and coordinating cross-functionally.

  • Strong assessment skills, with the ability to evaluate wants vs. needs and negotiate prioritization effectively

  • Proficiency in technical concepts and system architecture.

  • The flexibility to navigate from the big picture to details while managing complex cross-functional projects, often with tight deadlines

  • Solid project leadership skills, combined with business acumen, excellent communication skills, and analytical capabilities.

  • The ability to understand complex concepts, solve problems, and present effective business solutions and recommendations objectively

  • Strong leadership, prioritization, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills (verbal, presentation, written)

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment.

  • The capacity to interact with and influence various levels of an organization, both technical and non-technical, demonstrating strong relationship management skills

Travel Requirements & Working Conditions 

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% to meet and engage with fellow Workiva team members

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, as we embrace flexible work arrangements

How You’ll Be Rewarded

✅ Salary range in the US: $129,000.00 - $207,000.00

✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually

✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire

✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
