At Pinterest, our mission is to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and as a Pinterest employee, you’ll be challenged to take on work that upholds this mission and pushes Pinterest forward. You’ll grow as a person and leader in your field, all the while helping users make their lives better in the positive corner of the internet. We’re looking for a motivated, hands-on, and analytical Staff Technical Program Manager to help define the future of our Enterprise Web Platform. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys engineering and design problems and the idea of not only building a compelling vision for our platform but also designing the systems for ‘how we scale our impact and tell our story’ across Pinterest. We’re looking for a person who has experience building multisite and CMS web applications and understand why that’s not trivial — ideally this is not your first time doing this. You will play a huge role in the evolution and success of not just our many content-driven websites, but Pinterest’s go-to-market strategy and ability to scale our mission.

What you’ll do:

  • Web Platform & CMS Ownership: Manage the stability, scalability, and security of Pinterest’s enterprise web platform (corporate websites). Oversee day-to-day operations of CMS tools, integrations and projects.
  • Product Ownership: Define a product vision and develop a short and long-term roadmap for internal teams and external partners to be able to execute, and serve as subject matter expert for the enterprise web platform.
  • Stakeholder and Project Management: Lead cross-functional web development projects that involve multiple teams, ensuring alignment on objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Iterate and support existing web applications and features, and provide a base level of accountability for site availability.
  • Governance & Compliance: Champion web privacy and security compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc) and help maintain data governance. Proactively identify compliance issues and coordinate with legal and/or security teams to address them. Ensure that content publishing workflows have proper approvals and that web content meets brand and legal guidelines.
  • Accessibility Compliance: Ensure corporate web properties adhere to ADA and WCAG web accessibility standards. Partner with web designers, engineers, and QA to audit and improve accessibility, leading initiatives to fix issues and implement best practices for inclusive design.

What we’re looking for:

  • BS in a technical discipline or equivalent experience (8+ years in a technical role) and 6+ years experience in a technology management role (engineering manager, product manager, program manager or technical consulting engagement manager)
  • 6+ years developing CMS web applications; defining and scoping a technical solution for large scale CMS and web application projects; ability to perform complex software development tasks including custom application development using Sanity.io, Craft CMS, Drupal or other CMS technologies, and/or open-source technologies; strong familiarity with front-end frameworks like React and Node, security and performance optimizations, Unix/Linux server administration, etc.
  • Strong technical breadth and judgment. You have the ability to quickly ramp up and go deep on a range of technologies and are able to identify technical risks and tradeoffs.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and orchestrate efforts between technical and non-technical groups in a fast-changing environment. You can translate business goals into technical requirements and vice versa, effectively communicating between engineers and stakeholders. Experience in a role that straddles business and engineering (such as a technical product manager or web producer) is a plus, as it develops the empathy and language to talk to both sides.
  • Strong knowledge of web accessibility standards (ADA, WCAG) and experience auditing and improving accessibility on websites. Solid understanding of technical SEO principles (e.g., use of meta tags, structured data, page speed optimization, mobile-first indexing) to guide development in a search-friendly direction. Awareness of web privacy and security considerations (cookie compliance, data handling, etc.) and experience ensuring sites comply with GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations.
  • Expertise with collaboration and project management tools such as Jira to manage workflows, track progress, and ensure transparency. Demonstrated ability to run projects in an Agile methodology, prioritizing work and coordinating sprints or releases for web updates. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
  • Experience working in a consulting or agency environment with direct interaction with enterprise level clients and executive stakeholders

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
