As a Staff Product Manager for Compute Infrastructure, you will define the strategy and execution for the compute platform, focusing on processor technologies and virtualization. Your responsibilities include optimizing infrastructure efficiency, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and incorporating customer feedback to enhance product offerings.
We are seeking a Cloud Platform Pricing Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution of our cloud pricing and packaging models. You will play a crucial role in optimizing our cloud service offerings to meet the evolving needs of our customers while driving revenue growth and market competitiveness.
What You’ll Do:
- Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive pricing strategy for our cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and other offerings. And pricing offers, plans and incentives for managed accounts. Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation to identify optimal pricing models and strategies.
- Packaging and Bundling: Design and optimize cloud service packages and bundles to cater to various customer segments and use cases. This includes creating attractive entry-level offerings, value-driven bundles, and flexible options for different customer needs.
- Financial Modeling and Analysis: Build financial models to forecast the impact of pricing and packaging changes on revenue, profitability, and customer acquisition. Analyze key metrics and performance indicators to optimize pricing strategies.
- Competitive Intelligence: Continuously monitor competitor pricing and packaging strategies. Identify opportunities to differentiate our offerings and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Customer Insights: Gather and analyze customer feedback on pricing and packaging. Use data and insights to inform product roadmap decisions and improve customer satisfaction.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, finance, marketing, and sales teams to ensure alignment on pricing and packaging strategies.
- Per-Product P&L: Collaborate with FP&A to develop and manage per-product profit and loss statements (P&L) to track the financial performance of individual cloud services.
Key Metrics:
- Revenue Growth: Track the impact of pricing and packaging changes on overall revenue and average revenue per user (ARPU).
- Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC): Monitor the effectiveness of pricing and packaging in acquiring new customers and reducing CAC.
- Customer Churn: Analyze the impact of pricing and packaging on customer churn and retention rates.
- Market Share: Track changes in market share and competitive positioning.
- Customer Satisfaction: Measure customer satisfaction with pricing and packaging through surveys and feedback mechanisms.
What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:
- 8+ Years of Product Management Experience: Proven track record in product strategy, pricing, and packaging, ideally within the cloud computing, IaaS or related industry
- Strong Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and market research.
- Pricing Expertise: Deep understanding of various pricing models (e.g., usage-based, subscription, tiered pricing) and their impact on customer behavior and business outcomes.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business fundamentals, financial metrics, and market dynamics.

- We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is $170,000 - $230,000 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire and the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
