Job Overview:

In this pivotal role, you will set the strategic vision for Coursera's B2C discovery experience across our diverse product suite by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless, personalized and ML-driven learner experience.  You will also be responsible for maximizing enrollment, activation, and conversion of our paid product offerings. Your expertise in product management and passion for data-driven, user-first solutions will be essential in evolving our discovery capabilities to meet the dynamic needs of learners worldwide.

You will collaborate with engineering, design, research, data science, program management and university partnership teams to contribute to the development of your product roadmap. You will be in close collaboration with marketing, partnership managers, and growth product teams to ensure the successful growth of the product.

Responsibilities:

  • Set the vision for next-generation capabilities that help users discover the right learning programs for them and create compelling moments for enrollment across Coursera.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy to drive B2C revenue growth through scalable on-platform merchandising tactics that leverage ML to optimize their performance.
  • Employ rapid experimentation techniques to understand evolving market trends , user behaviors,  and potential opportunities. Use this data-driven approach to optimize our strategies for growth and steer product success.
  • Utilize market trends and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for revenue growth and innovative ways to personalize the learner experience.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of conversion and merchandising efforts to make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Marketing and other Product teams to align conversion strategies with overall business objectives and revenue targets.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product management experience with direct responsibility over the success of a consumer-facing product and driving revenue
  • Hands-on experience driving growth through tactics like promotions, on site marketing campaigns, etc.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex and impactful product initiatives from ideation to launch
  • Experience using a combination of quantitative (A/B testing and multivariate experimentation) as well as qualitative research methods to prioritize and validate ideas.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams through communication and collaboration
  • Direct experience in scaling platform-level capabilities that serve multiple use cases

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in a product team at a large e-commerce company
  • 0-to-1. You have taken products from idea to launch, with proven results post-launch
  • An “owner” mindset. You are biased toward action, a great collaborator, a master simplifier, and someone who pushes towards clarity and delivery.
  • User-first. You understand and speak in terms of user value propositions, and to creatively inspire users to try the product. You take on complex product challenges and find elegant, simplifying solutions to avoid making them our users and partner's problems
  • A high bar across the board -- from your own contributions to the people you work with, to the products you work on

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
