At Included Health, our mission is to serve members better and more affordable care, and to raise the standard of healthcare for everyone. We fill in the gaps of American healthcare to deliver you a seamless experience, instead of the fragmentation we've all encountered.

The Frontend Developer Platform team is part of the greater Infrastructure organization with a shared mission to drive engineering velocity for all teams. Platform engineers are impactful, high-leverage force-multipliers; we thrive by causally improving the effectiveness of the entire engineering organization. We work directly with our stakeholders, exercising the right amount of empathy to help define and scope our projects. If you believe that self-organizing, highly autonomous teams build better platforms, then this is the right opportunity for you. We are not an operations team.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify pain points in frontend web development workflows and implement solutions to improve developer productivity and happiness.
  • Build and maintain internal tools, libraries, and frameworks that enhance frontend development efficiency across the company.
  • Define and advocate for SDLC best practices tailored to frontend development, ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability.
  • Champion performance monitoring, logging, and error-tracking best practices to enhance application reliability and maintainability.
  • Conduct workshops, create documentation, and mentor engineers to drive adoption of frontend best practices across teams.
  • Research emerging frontend technologies, assess their applicability to the organization, and guide their adoption when beneficial.

Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Frontend Development Expertise - Substantial experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
  • API Design and Integration - Familiarity with REST and GraphQL APIs, including designing client-side data fetching patterns and optimizing API interactions.
  • Frontend Performance Optimization - Strong understanding of performance profiling, browser rendering behavior, and strategies for improving application speed and efficiency.
  • Testing Frameworks - Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing tools such as Jest, Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Experience working across team and organizational boundaries; experience working closely with backend, infrastructure, product, and design teams.
  • Technical Writing and Documentation – Ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation and tutorials to drive adoption of tools and best practices.
  • Emerging Technology Evaluation – Experience researching, evaluating, and advocating for new frontend technologies or tools to improve team productivity.
  • 5+ years experience in a professional development environment.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
