About the job

UX Design Lead takes complex tasks and makes them intuitive and easy-to-use for 127M musculoskeletal disorder patients in the U.S. Throughout the design process – from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes – you’ll envision how people will experience ViFiVE’s products, and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired, refined, and even magical.

At ViFiVE, we deliver data-driven solutions to customers. As an UX Design Lead, you’ll rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences – from concept to execution. You’ll collaborate with all across the teams to evolve the entire designs to build beautiful, innovative, and inspired products that people love to use. We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our team includes designers, researchers, engineers, and clinicians who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity.

You will:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and UX design and lead creative thinking across diverse new features of product releases and platforms
  • Shape ambiguous ideas into product stories and compelling experiences
  • Identify requirements from internal/external teams/partners and translate such requirements into design solutions
  • Be responsible and effectively advocate for users and the end experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment, imparting daily design leadership that fosters a shared understanding of the user-centric intersection between Design, Content, Business and Engineering groups
  • Align cross-functional peers (Product Management, Engineering, Research Scientists, etc.) at multiple levels to ensure new product design roadmap and prioritization decisions

We focus on being a collaborative and open organization to solve complex challenges and craft experiences that highlight our products’ unique capabilities and innovations. To do so, our team members are passionate about transforming the outdated healthcare industry with the highest technical depth, programming skills, and a keen eye for user experience. We expect you to be highly autonomous and independent and lead designs of major software components and features. We also expect you to work with high-level product requirements and manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in the creative industry (UX, UI, creative agencies, start-ups, gaming, etc)
  • Experience working with cross-functional product teams (e.g. Engineering, Product, Business and Strategy, User Research, Design)
  • Experience working on customer problems and within a technical environment
  • Excellent strategic and critical thinking mindset

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge in design and innovation processes
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Human-Computer Interaction or related fields
  • Experience in managing and leading cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to deliver compelling design proposals and to develop coherent visions for stakeholder/executive leadership reviews
  • Experience shipping product in a dynamic and agile early stage startup environment

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
