The Role

Our Opportunity: 

Chewy is looking for a dynamic Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Supply Chain Outbound Order Routing team based in Bellevue, WA offices. The Supply Chain Outbound Order Routing team is currently focused on reducing costs and driving bottom line impact through optimization and inventive software solutions. This team is expected to set the standard for optimization and automation of essential processes to continue exceeding customer expectations and digging in operationally to drive cost savings opportunities. We are looking for an experienced product leader with a builder mentality and passion for working backwards from customer problems to identify and execute innovative solutions.

As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining and executing the product strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of new systems and features that meet the unique needs of our internal and external partners. You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation through execution, using your expertise in project management, data analysis, user experience, and market research to achieve business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering successful products in partnership with science and engineering organizations.

What You will Do:

A team member in this role is required to solve multidimensional challenges and prioritize competing initiatives by balancing risk, impact, and goal achievement. A successful team member in this role can drive execution within and across the team and resolve complex issues independently with limited guidance/support. A Senior Technical Product Manager should be able to independently do the following tasks:

  • Able to understand business goal/customer problem(s) and translate into functional and non-functional/system requirements and create roadmap for deliverables. Ability to define measures of success and how to quantify impact to business and bottom line.
  • Create mechanisms to track progress and deliverables related to the product/feature you own across all technical and non-technical tracks.
  • Provide feedback to business and technical teams on feasibility, level of effort and prioritization.
  • Monitor performance of product(s) and measure impact of product enhancements; communicating impact clearly across the organization to drive prioritization.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of ownership and superior communication skills. Communicate solutions to stakeholders, communicating rationale, and highlighting benefits/risks. Can articulate the flexibility or limitations of a solution to the business.
  • Interacts with internal and external peers and management to share highly complex information related to areas of expertise and/or to gain acceptance of new or enhanced technology/business solutions.
  • Contribute to engineering design discussions. Engage in technology decisions providing business context.
  • Understands and works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Utilize and/or gather data to assess impact of initiatives to drive prioritization.
  • Has a deep understanding of business, financials, products/services, and team/market needs and challenges.
  • Plans and manages delivery of short-term goals (>= 1 year), owns prioritized product backlog ensuring product vision aligns with business goals.
  • Exercises independent judgement when determining when to apply methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to work.
  • Work is done independently and is reviewed at critical points.

What You will Need:

  • x+ years of progressive experience in product management of technical systems.
  • BS in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights and products.
  • Experience working on greenfield ideas from concept-to-launch as well as scaling systems while dealing with ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with aptitude to analyze, communicate and present metrics, plans and decisions effectively to support recommendations across a large organization.

Compensation & Benefits: 
Our salary range for a Senior Technical Product Manager position is $135,500 - $215,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and an annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
