Databricks is seeking an exceptional leader to join as Head of Product Management, Money Platform. This critical role will drive the product strategy and execution for Databricks' money and commercialization platform, enabling seamless customer experiences across purchasing, billing, and usage management. This isn't traditional enterprise billing - we're building a next-generation platform that handles complex usage-based pricing, real-time metering, and multi-cloud marketplace integrations for millions of compute clusters processing exabytes of data. You will work closely with engineering, sales, finance, IT, cloud partners, and customers to build scalable solutions that power Databricks' business model.

You'll tackle fascinating challenges at the intersection of distributed systems, financial technology, and cloud infrastructure. Think real-time metering at exabyte scale, global price and SKU propagation in milliseconds, and predictive billing engines that help customers optimize billions in cloud spend.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Pioneer the next generation of Databricks’ cloud commerce systems that operate at hyperscaler scale, handling real-time metering and billing for massive-scale distributed compute across AW S, Azure, and GCP that spans billing systems, marketplace integrations, pricing management, and entitlements.
  • Be the voice of the customer in commercialization decisions while balancing technical constraints and business objectives
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences across the commercialization journey
  • Partner with engineering and IT leadership to translate complex customer and business requirements into elegant technical solutions
  • Enable rapid business growth through flexible, scalable systems that support diverse go-to-market channels and pricing models
  • Champion customer needs while balancing technical constraints and business objectives
  • Shape how the world's leading enterprises consume and optimize their data and AI infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy for core platform and commercialization capabilities including:
    • Real-time usage metering and aggregation at exabyte scale
    • Distributed pricing and rating engines
    • Global marketplace integration architecture spanning multiple cloud providers
    • Entitlement and provisioning systems that manage millions of clusters
  • Drive innovations in areas like predictive billing, autonomous cost optimization, and automated compliance
  • Build the customer experience that makes complex commercial workflows feel effortless
  • Deep partnerships across engineering, sales, finance, and cloud providers
  • Ensure smooth integration between commercialization systems and other internal platforms
  • Participate in customer advisory boards and represent commercialization in key customer meetings

What We Look For

  • 10+ years of product management experience with at least 5 years focused on commercial/billing platforms or related technical systems
  • Experience building platforms that operate at massive scale (millions of requests per second)
  • Track record of successfully delivering complex technical products with significant business impact
  • Deep understanding of cloud marketplace dynamics, billing systems, and enterprise software commercialization
  • Proven ability to dive deep into technical architecture while maintaining product and business context
  • Proven people management experience with track record of growing and developing product managers
  • Outstanding communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field preferred
  • Experience with usage-based pricing models and cloud services processing $1B+ ARR strongly preferred

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. $154,000$272,000 USD
