Job Overview:

As a Senior Staff Storage Architect, you will be responsible for managing, architecting and maintaining our storage infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability, with a specific focus on supporting AI/ML workloads. You will work closely with data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and other IT professionals to support our data storage needs and contribute to the overall success of our AI/ML projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and DAS, with a focus on AI/ML workloads.
• Monitor storage performance and capacity, and implement necessary adjustments to support high-performance AI/ML applications.
  Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and availability for AI/ML datasets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues, particularly those impacting AI/ML workloads.
• Collaborate with data scientists and AI/ML engineers to design and implement storage solutions that meet their specific needs.
• Develop and maintain documentation for storage systems and procedures, with an emphasis on AI/ML use cases.
• Ensure compliance with data security policies and regulations, especially for sensitive AI/ML data.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing, with a focus on AI/ML data recovery.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Storage Administrator or similar role, with a focus on AI/ML workloads.
• Strong knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, DAS) and protocols (iSCSI, FC, NFS, SMB).
• Experience with storage management tools and software, particularly those optimized for AI/ML workloads.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions for large-scale AI/ML datasets.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Storage+, EMC, NetApp) are a plus.

Preferred Experience with AI/ML Storage Vendors and Technologies:

• Pure Storage FlashBlade: Unified fast file and object storage platform for AI and analytics1.
• VAST Data: Unified data platform optimized for AI/ML workloads, supporting file, object, and block storage23.
• DDN (DataDirect Networks): High-performance storage solutions designed for AI/ML workloads, offering ultra-low latency and high throughput45.
• NVIDIA DGX Systems: High-performance computing systems designed for AI and deep learning workloads.
• NetApp ONTAP AI: Integrated AI solution that combines NVIDIA DGX systems with NetApp storage
• AI Infra Engineering Building and operating
• NVIDIA and AI Certification
• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Infra Engineering
• Excellent cross-group collaboration and communication skills  

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $159,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $324,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
