The Caption Health SBU focuses on clinical applications that aid in early disease detection, using AI to assist in conducting ultrasound scans.
The Sr. Software Engineer plays a pivotal role in integrating our AI-enabled features into cutting-edge ultrasound systems across multiple platforms, including iOS, Android, and Windows.
Job Description

In this role you will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and designers to integrate AI-driven features into ultrasound systems across multiple platforms.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain SDK components that integrate AI capabilities into the product.
- Work on both backend (SDK and AI integration) and frontend (client-side interfaces) aspects of the system, ensuring a user-friendly experience.
- Participate in architectural discussions and provide technical guidance to help the team make well-informed decisions regarding feature implementation.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, with an emphasis on scalability and performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5-8 years of experience working as a software engineer, with a proven track record of working with software development kits (SDKs) and client-side applications.
- Proficient in C++ and at least one other high-level programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
- Strong mathematical skills, particularly in areas such as linear algebra and 3D transformations.
- Frontend development experience with a focus on user interfaces for hardware systems.
- SDK development experience.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance team environment.
- 10% travel domestically
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with Qt.
- Experience with DICOMs.
- Experience with AI/ML integration or development within software systems is highly preferred.
- Experience with ultrasound systems or medical device development.
- SDK development experience, including image processing and machine learning integration.
For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $114,400.00-$171,600.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
