About PMM

We’re looking for a strategic Sr. Product Marketing Manager of Monetization & Growth to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategies to maximize customer value through clear, compelling pricing and packaging, and driving portfolio-wide cross-sell and upsell strategies that deliver customer revenue growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective marketing campaigns, promotions, growth experiments, and customer lifecycle programs. This role is highly cross-functional, working closely with growth product and engineering teams, marketing, sales and customer success to design end-to-end campaigns that deliver on shared objectives. You have a consistent track record of leading multi-channel campaigns with commercial success, being collaborative, and finding opportunities to strategically uplevel marketing efforts.

The ideal candidate is passionate about understanding the buyer journey at each stage of the funnel for upsell and cross-sell initiatives, has the ability to translate messaging frameworks into effective campaigns, and thrives in a collaborative environment. You recognize the value of running an integrated campaign motion, and have the ability to think both strategically and execute at an operational level with ease.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Define required research needs and develop new ideas in support of strategy and direction. Understand customer needs through synthesis of qualitative and quantitative sources (market analysis, surveys, customer interviews, and product usage data). Leverage your understanding to impact strategy.
  • Influence the product and pricing roadmap by delivering on actionable insights & recommendations necessary to drive the business. 
  • Develop positioning and messaging for target audiences that drives action, translating them into compelling value propositions and materials for go-to-market teams. 
  • Identify how products fit within packaging; make recommendations. Ensure pricing considerations are included and work with pricing and finance on implications
  • Have direct ownership of monetization initiatives and launches. Identify support of business goals and build out launch plans and narrative. Collaborate with teams to develop campaigns and strategies to drive growth across the customer lifecycle.
  • Take full ownership of leading cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Communications/PR, Sales, and Data Science, to drive coordinated execution of monetization and growth programs. 
  • Define success metrics and facilitate measurement plans and alignment with business goals. Prove efficacy with testing. 

Here's what we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience, 5+ in product marketing, growth marketing, or equivalent experience in consulting, strategy, finance, and/or product management. MBA is a plus.
  • A customer empath, able to shift into the mindset of a customer and deeply understand their wants, needs, preferences, and pains 
  • A wildly curious, strategic and quantitative person who uses data to solve problems.
  • A go getter, experienced in driving and launching go-to-market campaigns.
  • A storyteller, able to craft compelling positioning with a customer first mindset. Experience conducting user and market research is a plus. 
  • A track record earning the respect of marketing, sales, product, operations, and design teams.
  • An influencer that can work well with various functional groups and levels in the organization. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including editing others’ work and coaching others’ presentations.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $147,000 - $180,000/yr in Denver & most remote locations, and $173,000 - $212,000/yr for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas. 

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
