This role focuses on leveraging AI agents to automate workflows, augment decision-making, and improve efficiency in core business processes.

You will work closely with design and engineering on a small, agile discovery team, exploring the potential of agentic AI to drive meaningful business outcomes. In a fast-paced, iterative environment, you’ll be empowered to rapidly experiment, test ideas, and turn ambiguous challenges into breakthrough solutions.

If you are a 0-1 Product Manager who thrives in navigating uncertainty, enjoys collaborating in a tight-knit team, and is excited to shape WEX’s next wave of AI-powered product offerings, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze market data to uncover unmet customer needs and identify opportunities where AI-driven automation can improve operational efficiency.

  • Lead product discovery and experimentation efforts to validate how AI agents can streamline business processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance customer decision-making.

  • Conduct deep customer research through interviews, follow-me-homes, and surveys to understand pain points and determine how AI can create measurable value.

  • Develop and execute learning plans that test risky assumptions through rapid experimentation, iterating based on real-world feedback.

  • Partner closely with engineers and data scientists to design, prototype, and refine AI-powered workflow automation solutions.

  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights from experiments, user testing, and market research to inform product decisions.

  • Stay current on advancements in AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), reinforcement learning, and autonomous AI systems, to identify opportunities for innovation.

  • Confidently present findings, learnings, and recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders using tangible examples, user insights, and data-driven assessments.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, helping teams across WEX embrace AI as a core enabler of business transformation.

Experience & Skills:

  •
  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5-7 years of experience working on technology-driven products in roles such as product manager, product designer, engineer, data analyst, data scientist, or user researcher.

  • Experience building, using, or experimenting with AI-driven products, particularly in the areas of workflow automation, decision support, or agentic AI.

  • Strong understanding of modern product discovery and delivery techniques.

  • Ability to quickly grasp various functional areas of business, including engineering, design, finance, sales, or marketing.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, using sound judgment to navigate complex challenges, assess risks, and present clear, data-driven solutions in a structured format.

  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with engineers, designers, and company leadership.

  • Comfortable with basic project management to drive necessary outcomes as part of the discovery and product development process.

Qualities:

  • Open-minded, creative, and comfortable working in ambiguity.

  • Bias for action with a sense of urgency to identify and solve high-value customer problems.

  • Passion for digital technology and the potential of AI to transform B2B operations.

  • Deep sense of empathy for customers, partners, and stakeholders.

  • Naturally balances customer outcomes with business results.

  • Strong communicator with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences, from technical teams to senior executives.
